Cerveza. Drink beer. With mixed drinks, you're at the mercy of the bartender. They make one strong, you get drunk faster. No way to accurately gauge your intake.

Red bull has been shown to give 18 year-olds heart attacks when mixed with large amounts of alcohol. Stay away from it.

This is under the assumption you are at least 21 in the US.

Wine coolers and malt beverages such as Zima are the things that many first time drinkers start with as the taste of the alcohol is hidden by the strong fruit flavors and they are fairly cheap. This is not necessarily good because many first time drinkers drink and become overly drunk. Also the carbonation speeds the alcohol to your blood more quickly than it would otherwise be absorbed (without C02).

I would actually recommend a mixed drink such as a Screwdriver with 1/2 oz. vodka and 12 oz. orange juice on ice. Add a touch of cranberry juice for a sharper taste.

Learn to pace yourself and have one glass of water for each drink that you have. Remember that a main cause of hangovers is dehydration.

Drink while eating food as that will slow the absorbtion of the alcohol.

Alcohol is a legal depressant. Remember that if you drink and drive you are in essence driving a loaded weapon. Drinking at first lowers your inhibitions. Next you get tired, go to sleep or drink enough and you will go into a coma. After a while it can kill you.

We don't yet know why people become alcoholics, but there is anecdotal evidence that shows us people which begin to drink in their teens have a much higher chance for alcoholism.

People always say to drink responsibly, but that is different for everyone. I have three rules to indicate that you are an alcoholic:
1. If you can't control what you do when you drink...
2. If you can't control when you drink...
3. If you can't control how much you drink when you drink...

...then you need help.

Be careful out there - too many people are willing and ready to take advantage of someone that can't control themselves under the influence of alcohol.

What types of flavors do you like and how strong a drink are you looking for? Something light and fruity? Arbor Mists Exotic Fruits goes down real easy. Rasberry Absolut is fun to experiment with. Mix with oj, lemonade, 7-up, iced tea. Something richer? A cream liquor like Bailey's, Buttershots, Kahlua; any or all of these can be blended with ice cream for a yummy milkshake. Or ask a bartender to make you an "Oatmeal Cookie". Try it you'll like it

Try something that isn't too strong at first. Some people are actually allergic to alcohol, so you don't want to get too crazy! And whatever you do, don't drink a whole bunch of different drinks in the same night because that is a sure fire way to get a nasty hangover and really sick!!!

i would say something gentle, like a light beer (color wise, not that low carb crap) or a mixed drink such as a mudslide, margarita strawberry daqurai (sp?)
my personal favorite 'gentle' drink is:
Baileys Irish Cream milk, and Ice cream. blend in a blender for an alcoholic Milkshake!!! :-) yum yum.

that will depend on your taste but the real sweet ones will usually make you sick alot faster. and just remember that alcohol will make you not care so be sure to use moderation and leave plenty of time between drinks to see how they are affecting you.

Any kind of lite beer. Make sure you eat a meal first, and have aspirin and coffee ready in the morning, just in case.
