i really want to go to nyu but i have never been to ny. give me your thoughts on the city

nyu is an excellent school.. you will have the best of both worlds.. the school is located in the village .. which is a hub for culture. and you have dorms around there or up on 14th and 23rd street... the NYU name speaks volumes on ya resume... so do not do your self a disservice by turning down the opportunity because its a big city. Visit first cause it may not be for you... but at least give it a try...
I agree with shawty... I love Ny.. and im so excited and i just cant hide it ..........imma bout to loose control and i think i like it....

New York City is the top of the heap !
The best of the best
It has everything, it never sleeps and the people (for the most part are great)
ITs exactly right that it is the center of the great United States.
Its the heart and soul of America.
But Boston still has the best Baseball and Football Teams hehe

Be prepared for how EXPENSIVE it is. I love it here, but it's very difficult to adjust at first. Don't expect it to be easy. I moved here without having ever been here before, and it was VERY hard to get used to it. Of course now I'm used to it and I LOVE it. I just can't quite grasp the expense. As a student it's very difficult to live here on a limited budget as almost everything costs money. Don't be surprised if you can't get a decent meal for under $10. I really hope that you have family support -both emotionally and financially.... as you will need it on your journey. Be open-minded and stay positive. Good luck!!!

I have been there and I really love NY!!! U will feel there like u r on the top of the world, it is amazing and full of life place, just go and enjoy:)

You should go visit first, for a decent amount of time, like a week at least....and check out all the areas. My guy lives in Staten Island and I go every few weeks to see him and it is and AWESOME town that is full of life and always on the go. I hope to move there soon.

i love it. i lived there for 5 yrs and go back every summer to visit fam. and at night the city lights r a must see view its so____o beautiful. and 42nd street has the coolest shopping day and night why else do u think they call it the city that never sleeps

I love NYC, but I was born there. It is a fast paced place so it may be an adjustment for many people. I find it exciting and around the holidays it is so nice.

NEW YORK IS THE BEST CITY!!! there is awsome SHOPPING, the dirty water hot dogs are AWSOME! FAO shwarts is A TON OF FRIKIN FUN!! there is countless ATMs and BANKS so if u need $$$ theres a bank around every corner! and theres plents of clubs and dancing places. (everyone seems like they are on their period though so watch out for cat fights!!)
