if god is not real it doesnt matter because there is no heaven or hell. but if he is real, why is so important to believe in him? isnt it more important to do good things. most atheists are good people and if we are wrong and god is real and we go to hell just for not believing then god would be really conceited or something. honestly if someone works for a good cause there entire life can they go to hell just for not beleivng?

We have to because the christian god is VERY insecure and it hurts his feelings if you don't believe in him and pay him tribute with prayer. For this minor insult, he will punish you for eternity.

I assure you, if I was god, I would allow you to worship whomever you want, as long as you were a good person. But ever since Paul got a hold of things, christianity has been more about faith than about deeds. So now we're stuck with a god that cares more about what you think than what you do.

You give an intersting reversal of Pascal's Wager though.

Does Water you drink matters to you? Does Air you breath matters to you ? Does the body you live in matter to you? Does Sunlight of the Sun matter to you? Does the Food you eat matters to you ?
If the answer is yes then God is a one who should matter you. None of these things where created by you. But they are all perfectly arranged for your life. So some one must have arranged it...
Just like in your City, you have Good Roads, You have law and order, you get electricity, and you have an apartment.. Every thing arranged nicely...
But does the government matters you ? Will you say oh why bother about the Tax or the Electricity Bill ?? But you are not hurting any one.. You are working for a good Cause.. Why do you need to pay your Bills ?? Tell that to the Electricity department ...

Bhagavad Gita says that we are reaping what we have already invested. Our Good Karma.. We paid in advance in our previous lives ... But we are still using .. So one day advance will finish.. Then Facilities Cut off...

And what payment does God needs ? He is already full in himself .. He just desires your love.. Why are you miser in that ? .. Love is something that grows more and more as you give.. So even a wise miser would give love...

Like your Father, he gives you every thing for your maintenance and your desires, and you may be a good person... but isn’t it your duty to offer love and appreciation back to your Father ??

But think ... if you disregard such loving father and simply use his money on your girlfriends.. What is your position ?? What is the word befitting your action ? You may even say, oh that money is coming by Chance.. Every month I see my bank account and there is some money ...I work hard by going to the Bank and withdrawing that money and count then and keep it safe.. So that’s how I earn my money ...

But just develop some sanity ...

You don't go to Hell because you don't believe in God. You go to Hell because God says that that is the punishment for sinning. When Adam choose to sin, we all inherited the sin nature. Just like Adam chose to sin (and blamed it on Eve) we can choose to sin. If you choose to shoplift an item and get caught, should you be punished? If you went in front of a judge, if the judge just let you go because he wanted to go golfing and didn't want to bother with you...would he be a good judge? If you told him that you shouldn't get punished because you try to do good and you're basically a good person, should the judge just let you go?
God is a just judge. He cannot go against His word that you will be punished for sin. That's why he gave us a "scapegoat". He wants our love....He doesn't want you or anyone else to go to Hell. He loves Sadam Hussein as much as He loves me. The difference is, I believe God for His word and have accepted His "scapegoat" Jesus Christ to take the punishment for my sin.
Because Jesus has saved me from my punishment, I love Him. There are fringe benefits that He is also my Healer, Redeemer and comforter. Because I love God, and I know that He wants everyone in Heaven, I tell people about Him.
Someone asked a question would I still try to act "good" even if I knew there were no God....I'm guessing that now that I know the difference between letting evil run my life or letting love run my life, I'd choose the love....whether God existed or not.

Dude read the Ten Commandments. We aren't allowed to have any false Gods just because he is a JEALOUS GOD. So saying he is conceited well that wouldn't totally surprise me if he was. Yeah doing good is one of the most important things but having faith is a lot higher in a sense. You only have two choices, God or Satan. If you deny God then you are picking Satan. You may not be doing it directly as you can say you don't believe in him either. Thing is though God said that if you aren't picking him you are picking Satan.

Its simple to any believer of the Christian Faith. Whether it be baptist, evangelical, assemblie of god, ect, ect, ect. The bible says in probably every version, that the only way to get to heaven is to personally accept Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior. Plain and simple. I have heard that it is not the case for people who have no way of knowing, have no access or children or aborted babies. And another is that you have to repent for your sins. Everyone sins, its a fact of life, some sins are worse than others, but they are still sins.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 “At the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels... he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction.”

This sounds important enough to make a whole-souled effort to get to know God accurately.

Only God can make that call. A person can do bad and still believe in God and he still may decide differently in the end. The one main thing is do no Deny your Savior.

it does not matter if u believe in god or not. but believe in urself and do not harm others for ur benefit to the best extent of urknowledge. hell and heaven are just imaginations ofmind as put by the great indian seer ramana maharishi. so dont wory about hell or heaven. if u do not wisg to believe in god, dont do that. if there is a god, he will not get angry that u r not believing in him. but be good. thats what he wants.

I imagine that it does morally and if there is a god. But the chances are that only one religion is correct and the others are all wrong. Therefore you have a 1 in 100 chance of following and believing in the right one!!
