Mind associations. Try to link ideas to words that make sense in your own unique, possibly perverse, way. Like maybe to remember the USA's independance day, for example, instead of July 4th, think "my friend julie has four cavities." Humor works. Confidence works too. If you believe you can read through something and remember it, you'll remember more. But fretting over whether you'll remember doesn't help. It only brings back during the moment of truth anxiety... Or.. write notes. Write in a notepad what you need to remember. That way you're reading it but kind of chisseling it into your brain through your fingers' movements.

get your book and notes together. Have a blank sheet of paper and pencil. Go over 1 page of book or notes at a time, and then give yourself a test on that 1 page. Make up the questions yourself using the study material. Don't move on to page 2 until you ace page 1.Continue until all subject has been covered.

I became a consistent # 1 deans list student during my college days, what I did was I tried to have my study at 3 am (morning).Yes, I wake up as early as 3 am and the I have the peace and calm sorroundings that makes me concentrate! But most effectively,I read my books and notes, focus on it and give interest on the topics! And also try to give enough nutrients to your brain, eat foods high in proteins such as peanuts, soya (soy beans)sardines, beans, meat and fish, lots of water, and enough rest and little bit of body exercise for a healthy body and healthy mind!
