I was thinking of visiting it in the future. As of now, is it fairly safe? Is it difficult entering the country?

Morocco is a stable, safe, beautiful country. The people are friendly and warm, but bear in mind that you will enjoy your visit more if you speak French.

Morocco was the first country to officially recognize the United States. It received our first ambassador. We have had long ties with that country. Bearing that in mind, it is very stable, the government has not changed significantly in well over 200 years. Internationally it is seen as a moderate Arab country, that supports the United States. There is no problem in United States citizens visiting Morocco, bring money as you will probably need it.

It's a stable country, no (civil) war, some regions have a lot of poverty, but it's really a beautiful country. But you might want to avoid the Saharan part, especially near the borders with other countries. Tourists get napped there and returned for money.

Oh, 1 more if you go: eat some tabbouleh (cold dish) or couscous (hot dish) wonderful...

Its totally stable and the people are great! They speak French and Arabic and have a wonderful sense of hospitality. The food is great and the scenery is out of this world. Be sure to brush up on your bartering skills when you go.
