I know of Islam and Mormonism. Any others?

Please don't bother listing Christianity, because it was preditcted by the prophets long before Jesus Christ was born.

Kelsey, I would say that when God created Adam and Eve, that would have been the beginning of Judaism, even if religion, per se, wasn't invented yet. Their worship would have been the beginning of any later religions based on belief in God of the Bible.

oldman, I was simply asking a question, not trying to start rumors. Can you please cite a link so I can read about it? I admit I don't know too much about what Mormons believe because I looked into it breifly, and it didn't make much sense to me. I am willing to look more closely at it if you want to show me where to find good information.

I have now read Joseph Smith's account of his first visitation. I'm not so sure he was visited by God, because Moses wasn't able to look at Him. Aside from that, there is no mention made of anything except not joining any of the existing denominations. It is not until the Angel Maroni appears that Joseph Smith is told about the plates.

Galatians 1:8 - "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed"

The 'Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' did not begin with an angel visitation. It began with God the Father motioning toward Jesus Christ and saying to Joseph Smith; "This is my beloved son, hear ye him". Don't spread false rumors about things you know nothing about.

Judaism and Islam Judaism because it started with Abraham being told to live somewhere by an angle and Islam because it was from the story only it branched off because of some historical thing but also I think Mohammad was with an angel when he figured out his profound knowledge either that or he was told by an angel I'm not Muslim and I can't remember

The Baha'i Faith also started when it's Prophet - Baha'u'llah - received a vision while imprisoned in the Siyah-Chal (the Black Pit) in Tihran 1852 CE. He described the experience this way : "While engulfed in tribulations I heard a most wondrous, a most sweet voice, calling above My head. Turning My face, I beheld a Maiden - the embodiment of the remembrance of the name of My Lord - suspended in the air before Me. So rejoiced was she in her very soul that her contenance shone with the ornament of the good pleasure of God, and her cheeks glowed with the brightness of the All-Merciful. Betwixt earth and heaven she was raising a call which captivated the hearts and minds of men. She was imparting to both My inward and outer being tidings which rejoiced My soul, and the souls of God's honored servants. ..."

I'm sure most religions began this way, but many 'angel visitations' may be psychiatric delusions, along with hearing voices. ..... so who knows? or who can count that many? which ones are 'valid'?
