Tumors don't necessarily mean you have an infection. A tumor means that cells or tissue are multiplying in an uncontrolled progressive growth pattern somewhere on the body. Tumors may be benign or malignant.

A tumor can become an indirect cause of infection in that they can grow big enough or destroy normal tissue to such an extent as to cause physical illness of many types including developing infection.
