No. Crime would not disappear whether we all had guns or nobody had guns.

Crime is everywhere all the time. It is like life. Nobody is ever going to stop crime. No matter what we do, how we organize ourselves as a society, no matter how much we conform to the laws and edicts of our culture, there is always going to be crime. Whether it is jaywalking or murder, there are always going to be people in this world who do not color inside the lines.

No, I don't believe we would all be safer. Some people simply shouldnt have guns. Many people don't know how to properly use guns.

There have been some examples of conceal and carry laws lowering crime rates, it also makes you feel safer to own a firearm, but guns are not anti-crime tools. Just everyone owning a gun will not lower crime. You can protect yourself more, if you know how to use it, but the crime will still be there.

If everyone carried a firearm, including the idiots, angry people, criminals, and untrained, the world would be much more dangerous.

Not just anyone can use a firearm correctly.

Not really. I believe in the right to have guns, but crimes are changing. People are stealing identities not stereos nowadays. How would owning a gun stop that? What homes need now are good security systems. What would work also is the death penalty for all felony crimes, on the first offense. That way there would be no second offenses anywhere and people would think real hard before doing any crimes in the first place.

thats a negative....have you ever seen those crazy people walking down the road...just imagine. All it would take is for you to tell them you have no change and BANG.

On the other side of this....we would all feel safer. But I do not think it would reduce crime. Some people out there won't care if you have a gun or not....they will have 3 for every 1 gun you have.

Not everyone, but more would be good.

There is a book out called, "More Guns Less Crime." You should take a read on it. The author set out to prove the exact opposite, but reported what was true in his findings.

If more well trained people carried firearms we might reduce crime some. Not everyone though.

You managed to get two questions in there...

One...no...all crime would not dissapear. There will always be those amongst us that would rather take then earn.

Two...Yes...we would be somewhat safer. I for one know that I prevented an assult on myself and my family because the guy wasnt sure I had a gun or not. What he saw was a rather large leather case on my belt under my T-shirt that he mistook for a holster.

i have the right to bear arms if you break into my house you will be shot if you can get past the dogs trying to tear off your legs...but there's idiots that shoot at each other ,,this is a problem across America with out children and gangs...if you are gonna own a gun take safety lessons and shooting lessons to know how to service and clean your guns,,,and invest in child proof locks and safes for storage

No. If everyone had a gun, there would be no fear of guns. Think about it. If everyone had three heads. A person with one head would be a freak.

It would take away everyone's rights, there would be no law to say when you can or can't shoot someone. Think of the suburbs where everyone has guns and think how happy they are.

the crime would be reduced. look at the difference between where you can't legally carry a gun and where you can. the carry states tend to have lower crime rates.

guns do not course or cure crime, they are a tool. unless you get rid of the root causes of the crime it will not disappear.

Everyone must be accountable and responsible if ever one owns a gun. A gun is not a toy to make fun to everyone. Remember life is a very precious gift from God. We only live once and we must have to live it right. Save lives, live peacefully.

A gun should only be given to authorized and legally qualified individuals.
