It is quite a COMMON occurrence these days, especially among the elderly and the terminally ill patients. In addition to NDE [near death experiences] there are also OBE [out-of-body experiences].

Just ask any nurse, caregiver, or other medical professionals about particular accounts that they know of about patients in their care and you'll hear a lot of first-person stories that they've heard or even witnessed themselves.

Peace be with you!

In 1997 I was fifteen years old and got in a car accident. The hospital told me I was literally 2 minutes away from death when they started operating. I remember everything; I was lucid, but euphoric ... I remember them cutting the car away, putting me in the ambulance, the ride over to the hospital, then it fades.

That's been my near death experience ... no light, no angels, no tunnels or epiphanies. Just loud metal being wrenched off my body, paramedics telling me not to fall asleep, and the woman next to me screaming.

yes, i do believe in NDE but better yet you dont have to believe in NDE you can experience something similar to a NDE called an OOBE (out of body experience) if YOU experience it first hand where you actually see and recognize that your spirit has actually left your body like thousands of people do every day then you will know that these experiences that these people have in a near death occurrence is quite real. you will know your spirit can leave your physical body and move about independent of it. the best way is to tell you to look for people who are giving actually testimonial evidence of what happens to them in the gateway voyage program at Monroe institute. the Monroe institute is a scientific research program and non-profit fund raising to explore human consciousness. look them up.

My mom had one. She was undergoing a serious operation several years ago, and she almost died (or maybe did for a few minutes?). She 'woke up' in the middle of the operation, and she was hovering above her body in the operating room. The doctors had a crash cart and everything. She remembered details of the operation that frightened the doctors afterwards, and she had this experience before everyone started talking about them.

Yes, but I also believe there are rational explanations for them. I've gone in depth into several specific cases, and they seem to have the same signature. When you really start to probe, the facts quit aligning. It seems apparent to me that these are cases of a little odd experience combined with a lot of imagination and delusional thinking.

Having had one, I can tell you that "near death experiences" are related to us by the living.

There are alot of New Age views and concepts, and many authors who are more than willing to take your money.

If you are really interested in "near death experiences" consult the gospels.

Well, if you go by the laws of physics, yes.

Energy can neither be destroyed or created - it can only be channelled into a different form of energy.

Can the mind exist outside of the synaptic nerve response of the physical body? in some form, yes.

Yes, I believe in NDEs. Maybe you could elaborate a bit more. You asked the question but did not explain why you wanted to know...is something going on or did something happen to make you wonder about this?

Absolutely. I had one in 1998 and I will never forget the immaculate light that surrounded me and held me close while the doctors were working to save my life.
