1. Avoid salt, AT ALL
2. Lose weight
3. Stay away from fats and carbs
4. Don't drink Coke or Pepsi, any soda at all.
5. Walk at least 30 min 5 times a week
6. Take your pills every day.
6.Control your blood pressure at least once a week.

I agree with all of the above, but a big key is exercise and weight loss (if you are overweight). Exercise allows the blood to pump more efficiently through the vessels helping your BP to decrease.

Decrease salt/sodium intake, increase potassium, calcium and magnesium intake, and lower your saturated fat intake.
