Chocolate Chip Cookies
[This is based on the infamous Nestle Toll House recipe. After MANY years of making this recipe, my mom has adapted it slightly. As far as all six of her kids and 14 of her grandkids are concerned, it was an improvement.]
1 cup soft butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts -- pecans are best
12 ounces Nestle's choc. chips
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour -I don't always use all of this - 2 +cups
1/4 teaspoon baking POWDER -- not Baking soda!
dash salt
Beat butter, add sugars. then eggs and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Add the chopped nuts and the pkg of chips. Sift together dry ingredients. Add quickly and stir just until mixed.
Chill for a couple hours if dough is too sticky.
Drop by teaspoonsful onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly browned and top center has set. May freeze.
NOTES : To make CINNAMON COOKIES - use recipe above, BUT delete chips, and add 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon with the dry ingredients. These are great! There are also cinnamon chips, but I've never tried them. I actually am not a fan of chocolate [I know, I know, there are only two or three of us on the planet], so I love the cinnamon version.

This is the basic chocolate chip cookie recipe that was passed on from generations to generations and made millions of happy cookie eaters. It aslo probably known as the best chocolate chip cookie recipe.
- 1 cup of flour
- 1/2 t.sp. of salt
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 2/3 cup of brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
- 1 t.sp. of vanilla
Preheat oven to 375. In one large bowl, put the flour, brown sugar and salt then mix these ingredients a bit. After, add the egg, butter and the vanilla. Stir everything until you get an homogenous mixture, then pour in the chocolate chips and stir.
Make small golf ball size with the dough and place at least 3 inch appart on a lightly greased cookie pan. With a fork, that you can dip a bit in flour so the dough will not stick to it, flatten the little "balls" without making them too thin. Bake for 10 minutes or until they are nicely goldened. Let these little treasures cool down at least 2 to 5 minutes before serving.

The Toll House cookie recipe on the bag of Toll House chocolate chips. The only difference is that I put in more chips. Be sure to use real butter, too

I agree with Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies being the best/user friendliest recipe.
Google is your best friend here.
For a luxury touch, use Green and Black chipped chocolate (with cherries or orange or almonds or hazelnuts), and of course, the best european butter.
