1 Peter 4:6
Peter says that "the Gospel was preached also to those who are dead." This appear to claim that people have a change to be saved after they die.
And Hebrews..9:27 insists that it is appointed for men to die once , but after this is the judgement

There is no hope held out anywhere in Scriptures for salvation after death. Death is final and there are only destinies - heaven or hell, between which there is a great gulf that no one can pass over (Heb 9:24 )

The whole urgency of responding to God in this life before we are going to die gives us further support to the fact that there is no hope after the grave ( John 3:36, 5:24 )

That the Gospel was preached also to those who were dead does not say that people have a chance to be saved after they die. People either die in faith (Heb 11:13) or in their sins (John 8:24). When Jesus died and resurrected from the dead He established the New Covenant since He fulfilled the O.T. In general, nobody went to heaven when they died under the O.T. (Joh 3:13). The dead, both sinners and saints were located in the lower parts of the earth where they were kept apart by a wide chasm or gulf (Luk 16:19-31) (Eph 8:-10). Since Jesus said that "no one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6) then it seems that people have to have faith in Jesus to get to heaven where the Father is (remember "our Father which art in Heaven?). That is why Jesus preached the Gospel to the dead O.T. saints so they could enter thur Him to Heaven. Now under the N.T. When a Christian dies, he can go straight to heaven to be with the Lord (2Cor 5:4-10). We have no assurance of living out our lives for tomorrow much less to think that we will be able to be saved from our sins another day (James 4:13-17!!!).

These may be the sinners of the flood generation who are possibly referred to in 1 Peter 3:19. But many scholars think that there is no connection between these two verses, and that the dead here are Christians who have died since hearing the preaching of the gospel.

As far as I know, only Mormons (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,) believe that the gospel can be preached to people who have died. We believe God is fair, and if some folks never had the opportunity to hear of the gospel while alive, they will have the chance, as spirits, after death. They can then choose to accept it or not. It's up to them. There's more, if they accept, that can then be done to help them out, but much of their outcome still depends on the kind of life they lived. You can't be a miserable, murdering, awful person and then expect everything to be all right later. God is fair, but he won't let people cheat their way into heaven.

Most scholars take that to mean that Jesus preached to the Old Testament saints that what they had been looking forward to had come to pass and that the place of the blessed dead was then abolished. Now that Jesus has come the verse in Hebrews applies.

No, once a person has died, there is not a second chance for them to be saved. 1 Peter 4:6 was speaking of those who were dead in spirit, not physically dead.

Since many people die without getting a chance to accept Jesus Christ, I think Peter was talking about them. It only makes sense that a fair and just God would do things this way.

These were either people who died before Jesus came, as the Bible says that when Jesus died, holy men who had died before were raised back to like and walked among the people... or the angels who sinned back in the days of Noah. Notice it is past tense, it is not done now. It was preached, not it IS preached.

so peter spent time with Jesus who says he'll prepare a space for you at the lord's table... I assume they talk shop at the table which means you get the gospel after death. That also means you cleared judgement to get to that table.

Yes, the gospel is preached to people after they die, they just no longer have the capacity to hear it.
