Don't listen to any of these non-believers. The Statue was indeed discovered but it was actually discovered on Mars by aliens millions of years ago. They worshiped the Statue believing it was made in the image of their God. One day they decided to spread the word of their God and transplanted the Statue from Mars to Earth. Unfortunately, when they arrived they found a primitive race that they had no way to communicate with so they decided to wait until the inhabitants had evolved and were ready to be taught about the ways of God. The aliens then moved to France and lived their lives in hiding waiting for the day that man was ready for their wonderful gift. Centuries passed and the aliens decided that man was still not ready for the gift. The aliens packed their bags and left the planet in search of their God so they could bring him to Earth and have even more proof of his existence. Many more centuries passed and then the Statue was discovered once again. A drunken Frenchman was stumbling along a hillside and had stopped to urinate. Upon looking up he realized that he was urinating on an enormous statue that was covered in moss. The Frenchman reported the statue to the authorities and it was decided that France wanted nothing to do with a statue that had been urinated on for who knows how long. They then decided to pass it on to the hated Americans. They knew the Americans would take anything that was given to them without question as they valued their possessions more than anything. So the statue was then chopped up and shipped to America. To this day the aliens still search the stars for their God unbeknownst to the fact that the humans had evolved so much that humans had created their own Gods and desecrated the aliens holy one. But the aliens will return someday. With the proof they have searched for all along. And God (yours or theirs) help us when they arrive.

Actually the Pilgrims discovered it while looking for a place to land.
It was obviously a sign from Satan so they kept going until they saw the Plymouth Rock and decided upon this rock they will build their town.
Even though they didn't bring any seeds or gardening materials somehow by magic they built a great city.
They also ran into an Indian and somehow he spoke English.
He told them that the Indians had already discovered the Statue of Liberty in the Land of Nuyerk and that is WAS indeed EVIL.
And that it is worshiped by these strange people called Yankees.
But he told him that if they substained from having sex with assorted farm animals they that the Yankees would eventually disappear.
Well...we ALL know what happened there!

If the Statue if Liberty was in Germany then why did just saying perhaps or maybe a woman in Brazil pose for it. I see tax people wearing a robe and that thing on their head; wonder where they came from just saying? Some people think Columbus discovered but the truth is; it was all discovered before he showed up. Hey and corn was in Egypt before the Indians came from South America to the US. You folks need to read historical localities so you can understand just saying. Some people just didn't read enough just saying. I always wanted to go and see it and who knows I might just do it just saying the Statue if Liberty.

The Statue of Liberty was made in France and then shipped overseas to the US and assembled. It was given to us as a gift from France in 1884 as a symbol friendship and liberty.

Lief Erickson, on one of his many explorations to the eastern seaboard, wrote of the "tall green queen who rose from the sea bearing a light." Scandinavian scholars speculate that this was the first sighting of the Statue of Liberty.
