My daughter just turned 2 and she LOVES the Teletubbies. At Toys R Us I just bought her a large yellow one, about 16 inches tall. It talks and dances. It's really cute. And it was only about $15.
She also loves Blue's Clues.
Oh, and dolls. How about a doll crib or cradle?

Go to step2.com or look at Toys R Us for Little Tykes or Step 2 stuff. It's durable, washable and some of that stuff is cool! We often buy that stuff for birthdays and Christmas for the little ones in the family.
I would recommend a vanity, a store (has shelves and cash register) or a kitchenette (be sure to buy some plastic food for it)...I think Little Tykes makes all three.

Just take her some where special, like a Zoo or a Show. If she likes to swim then you could take her to The Great Wolf Lodge, it's this nice Indoor water park! The water park is for all ages and it has a cute little section for Toddlers! But if you want to go to the water park then you have to spend a night in there Hotel. I love this place! It's Perfect for you and your daughter!

my child loved music set from parents magazine - available at target. we still use it 2 years later! think abt what u already have - blocks are great, balls are great - small tricycles are good.but the best thing i did was spend more time with my child. maybe make a routine - something special u do together like a once a month date - or make a video of ur childs b day party each year on the same tape - then as an adult she can watch herself grow up one party after another..

What is she interested in? I always take an educational approach when it comes to buying a birthday present for my kids. When my daughter turned two, we bought her her very first leap pad. There are different leap pad books that she can choose from. It's fun AND educational.

my son got an instrument set with a drum and maracas and bells and other instruments when he was two. he is now three and still plays with it all the time. it is nice because it has enough stuff so the whole family can make music together.
also, eeyore is right- the leap pad phonics radio is great too. my son also loves to play with that all the time and i think it has really helped him learn the different sounds of letters.

If you're looking for something educational yet fun, we just got our 2 year old son the Leap Pad Phonics Radio...it plays music and teaches phonics...he's playing with it right now and imitating the letter sounds and dancing to the music.

How about a cute battery powered car? Like a little pink Cadillac Escalade? They are too cute! And, perhaps you could also purchase her a little pink piggybank, and have her drop a few cents in it weekly to teach her the value of savings.

Teddy bears, little kids love them. I'd refrain from anything that has bright lights and makes a lot of sound, it'd give you a headache after a good 10 minutes, haha.
