Can't they renew their life without leaving their religion?
Or do you see those people in Born Again denominations to be oppurtunistic of the situation?

yes they may renew their life by staying faithfully in their religion,as what i am doing, problems may struck me,however heavy it is, i believe that staying and believing in God can do great in ones life. perhaps, persons who leave their religion after being struck by troubles had been influence by others. i also believe that religion could not save you in troubles but in your own doing.whatever religion we may in as long as we stay faithful, honest, and knows how to accepts reality, knows how to deal with our problems, everything will be alright. also do not blame other religion for nobody can force us in something we do not want to do.sometimes God purposely tests us and see if we can handle and pass the test ourselves. by passing the test together with faithfulness,we may be the victor!

There is a difference between "being born again" and joining a "born again" christian movement!

Being "born again" means sheding of the old ways and starting a new path, whatever that may be, and sometimes good, relgious people do that. Methodists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Catholics, Islamics one day turn a corner and change their whole way of looking at life or religion.

A friend of mine's father, an agnostic, became Born Again when he got cured of Cancer in the 1960s. He changed his ways and became a much more open and jolly person. He started valuing life.

He was self-proclaimed Born again, but he was not Christian. Born Jewish and adopted an Agnostic point of view, yet he smiled, laughed considered himself Born Again as a result of being told you got six months to live, although we have this new treatment that might work and it did.

You need to answer my question on why so many people here are polarizing when it comes to Christianity. And in short many but not all turn to religion when life is tough for many a reason. One because it makes them think hard about life. Two because they are in need. This does not mean help is not out there. And yes, I'm sure some use it as a crutch. Please try to not make the mistake of a hasty generalization. And no, I am not a Christian, but I am sick of Christian bashing. Look at your heart before you post a question and know where the motivation is coming from.

Jesus said to the leaders of the church that so far thought that they will inherit the Kingdom of God:

"Whores and tax collectors will enter the Kingdom of God before you"

I am not saying they will all enter the Kingdom of God, but for many there is a chance. Without leaving the religion - they cannot because they don't get proper directives at the place where they are today.

Sure, many are opportunists and yet there are few who are not. They have that spiritual desire.

God forgives you if you ask him to. But in asking that forgiveness you must make a notable decision to try and not do it again. We all are sinners, and Jesus died so that we could be saved, and forgiven. Every living human makes mistakes. God knows this and forgives us for our sins. All you have to do is believe that Jesus died on the cross for us, and you are Born Again. WOW how easy that is, and you have an entire storehouse full of blessings and gifts just waiting for you. One of those gifts is forgiveness. I truly don't believe people plan on sinning, or do it just because they know it will be forgiven--Remember this "only the thief kills, steals and destroys"--that thief is the devil. God will never forgive him.

The Bible tells us that in order to enter the kingdom of heaven , we must be born again. that which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Many who have hit rock bottom through their transgressions and or terrible circumstances finally turn to the One who is a healer, a provider, the only One who can make us whole. the point of the "12 steps" and othr recovery "processes" is not the process itself - rather it is about what the process leads to - an intimate relationship with our creator.

Come on guys, when they say "born again" it means they died to their sin. Read 2 Corinthians 5. Heres the main points
-Jesus died so that we could be forgiven, if you don't believe we are forgiven for any and every sin in our past, then Jesus died for nothing.
-We are a new person in Jesus. 2 Cor 5:15 says Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
There ya go

We are all sinners and need to be forgiven by Christ , but born again ? Once was enough for me . That seems to be a catchy phase that some religions throw out there .

I think they are l00% definitely opportunistic of the situation (good wy to put it!) They can all go to hell too. I like people who act 'better than me' (telling me what to damn well do) to really BE better than me.. not a bunch of bullshitters who were 'alkies, sex idiots, and screwy Religious types..' (Good question you asked by the way.) I don't like any ******* body telling me what to do anyway, come to think of it.. later (melancholia) oh, that 'born again' is the biggest bunch of bullshit anyone can concoct too.. I hate that friggin phrase.. don't U? lol

Often people who have a lot of guilt over things they have done in their past are drawn to such teachings. That and the fact that most organizations designed to help such people are Christian-based.

Best wishes.

To me, I see it as a bit of a cop out.... kill someone, find religion, be absolved, be free to carry on and be free to do it again... just be sure to find a different religion each time you do something bad, I mean, I think you can only be born again into each religion one time, so use them sparingly. ;)
