My husband and our family are due to PCS to Germany in January 2007, we were curious as to whether or not there were firework displays on 4th of July on a US Army post in Germany??

yes, most all bases have fireworks. we live on one of the smaller bases in germany and we went to a firework show last night (4th of July). they may not be as extravagent as those back home, but at least my kids were able to be patriotic thousands of miles from home. and as far as i know, nearly every base did something. but to be sure, find out what post you are going to be on and talk to you sponsor or get on the BSB web page and find out what they did this year.

Most of the major bases (caserne in Germany) have some type of fireworks display on the 4th. The biggest are in K-Town and Heidelberg, however there are others to attend as well. Check with your base MWR office for the details of 4th celebrations wherever you are going.

Well, I live on a tiny military post in Germany, and last year we had a pretty cool fireworks display. This year we had it on Sunday, but Ramstein had one on the 4th. So it depends on where you're going. Do you know yet?
