i tried dying my hair purple (beyond the zone: color jamz), but it was too dark. it was originialy a faded red color. the lady at sally's told me if i just used some clarifying shampoo it'd fade some more and the purple would take. it came out this ugly brown color but my dark blonde roots turned a grayish purple.

so i went back to sally's and got some permanent color stripping stuff. it took the color out all right, but after using the last step of the box (which it was one 'n only colorfix) it's now green.

my hair is normally healthy and strong, but also thick and naturally curly. before this dye mishap i had it straightened (not permanently, just till i washed it again) so that i could cut it and donate to locks of love. so it's been through a lot this past week. that and i've spent about $60 on it -_-

so, what should i do? i don't want this ugly green. i'll take any color as long as i don't have to damage my hair much more than i already have.

You are killing your hair. The dyes, stripping, straightening etc will ruin your hair. Someone recently posted who was doing this had her hair fall out. Go to a salon and get a deep conditioning treatment and ask them what to do. Then leave your hair alone.

I went through almost the same thing.and you won't get back the soft and strong. All you can do is treat it to keep it from any further damage and let the color grow out. With everything you have done to it in such a short time,if you recolor it again.....even to a dark shade your hair will either break or fall out.both are pretty devastating.mine broke.just like black peoples hair.looked really bad.and when i washed it it felt like pudding and i had to wait until it was dry to brush it.what i did to get a little strength back to keep it from at least breaking anymore was i bought nuetrogena strengthening and and repair shampoo.it worked really well but i haven't been able to find it since.so if i had to buy another one right now i would probably go for nexxus.but definetly if u use any styling products choose nexxus because it is alchol free which means it won't dry out ur hair.if you use any kind of heat then use the protection on ur hair as well.and maybe look into going to ur hair dresser once or twice a week for some hot oil treatments.they are really inexpensive and are worth more than the price tag.hope that helps.concentrate on keeping any other damage away and just keep getting it trimmed and cut as short as you can handle until it is all gone.mine took a yr.but my hair grows really slow

OK Honey, here's what u do. You need to cover that mess up. That is your only option now after all u did to your hair, it's so damaged right now. If it's green you need to cancel out the ash in it ( aka green) with red. The only option u have is to color over the mess with a red based brown hue. Try level 5 red brown. DO NOT GO HIGHER THAN 8 level or it will be pink! If u go to sally tell them u want a red or orange based dark brown. Ideally you should get a 4.3 or a 5.3 which translates to a level 4 dark golden brown. Hope u look back to normal soon! Remember, this is why hairstylists get paid the big bucks, so you don't burn or ruin all your hair by not knowing the chemical make up of hair color.

please red this and you'll understand how to fix your hair

Ooh, honey...why would you EVER put your poor hair through all that??? Go to your salon and ask for a Malibu treatment. It will natrually take impurities such as well water deposits and some color-mistakes out. Don't put any more chemicals on it. It will fall out. You may want to consider just cutting it all off and starting over--that hair you already have will never be healthy again.

You probably needed to color your hair after you stripped it like a normal color and if you want a purple color you should try burgundy and don't not dye it black it will never come out!! good luck!

I'd suggest you pay the money to go see a professional colorist in a salon. If you don't, I fear the next may be the last time you have hair to color for quite some time.

I think you should get to the salon. You will destroy your hair to the point of having to cut it short. I done this once and ended up looking like Betty Boop. No joke. I use to dye my hair a lot, however I ended up with orange hair. Let a professional fix your hair, before you fry it yourself.

i'd keep away from bleach because it may contaminate the ambience, as well as detrimental the concrete. There are particular cleansers for concrete; seem for one it really is designed to get rid of mould. That and diverse elbow grease could sparkling up your difficulty.

get professional help...that doesn't mean going to sally...and it is way more expensive to fix your mess than it would have been to have had it done right the first time!...also, why on earth would you mess with all this color if you are planning to donate your hair?

Go to a stylist so a professional would fix it. You've all ready done enough damage.
