A dry nose just means that they are not active. I know people think it is wet when they feel good and dry when they are sick, but it becomes wet with activity. So this must mean that the dog is not moving around to much. I would call the vet tomorrow because if your dog has not been properly vaccinated he could have parvo, that kills them, it is a bad death. You need to call the vet. I wish you and your dog the best!

NEW ANSWER:
Animals need us to protect them, be their voice, advocate- your dog's symptoms could be serious, even life threatening!
If you or your human loved one had a noticeable difference in appetite or thirst, was losing weight, and had mucosa symptomology (such as dry nose, mouth, etc as the dog is experiencing), would you not recommend a check up? Always think to yourself if this were your human child... (ya know?)
I am extremely passionate about the ethical treatment of animals- if you QUESTION your pet's wellbeing - just make an appointment!!!
In the meantime, get a few good books that can educate you on pet health so you can easily spot "normal, or typical" health variations, spend the extra money on good quality pet food, try to avoid raw hides, never give your dog animal bones as they break up and splinter - leading to problems such as intestinal disease, gum disease, constipation etc. Feed your dog 2x a day- particularly large dogs a prone to bloat, which occurs when the belly is empty and it twists, this is extremely painful and usually the pet must be humanely euthanised (sp?). NO raisins, NO chocolate, NO raw onions, NO caffeine.
Get to know the animals you keep, YOU ARE THEIR ONLY VOICE!
Best of luck!
(Sorry I was *rude* last night.)

Please take your pet to the vet soon as possible. The first thing they should do is take blood and check for disorders. There may be other tests involved also. We had the same problem. The dog was so very healthy and then we noticed him becoming lethargic, dry nose, not eating, not drinking. Found out he had kidney problems that could not be repaired. Vet felt it was genetic. Had to euthanize him & was a sad time for us. Good Luck to You and please - for the dogs sake - don't let him suffer any longer.

Dogs should always have a wet, cold nose. If yours is dry and warm, your dog has a fever. Flip your dog over and feel of her tummy, does it feel abnormally warm? The not eating or drinking is a sign that the dog is going from bad to worse. When they have a fever they can start to de-hydriate quickly. PLEASE take your dog to the vet first thing in the morning. It sounds like you have a very, very sick dog.

Vet is always the best bet for pet question. this may not sound good but try to get the dog to pee on something white and see if theres blood on the pee. if there is the dog my have a bladder infection or bladder stones. I had a pom that stoped eating and drinking and she would scream and pee all over if i tryed to pick her up i took her to the vet and they had to do emerg. sergery on her to remove 3 golf ball sized "stones" out of her bladder. its kinda like a person haveing galbladder stones. just relax and take it to the vet first thing. but dont worry too much it might just be hes not happy with a new food or living arrangement or if you have other pet they may be running him out of the food and now hes scared to eat. never know with animals. just take the baby to the Vet for good mesure could be the differance between life and death for your pooch.

I would start with food that is the closest a dog would find in the wild, such as raw meat. They need vitamins and minerals as much as we do but the food that is out there is usually garbage. Dogs don't eat corn or rice with artificial color or flavors in the wild so why would we expect them to be healthy when we feed that to them.

Take him in ASAP. I heard if the nose is dry, that is an indication they might be sick. Also if he is not eating or drinking as usual.
If you can take him tonight, I would. Waiting can increase symptoms.
Good luck!!!!
