I am a Northern Irish citizen and because of this by default, I am entitled to a dual nationality, Irish and British.

Does this entitle me to both a UK passport AND an Irish passport or is it a case of choosing one and sticking with it, because I have already used a UK passport in the past but am becoming attracted to the idea of an Irish passport as well, mainly incase I lose one.

ADDED NOTE: The UK one has expired already :-) The reason I was thinking of this was BECAUSE i need a new passport.

Yes, there is some type of European agreement between several countries that both UK & Ireland are a part of. You would have major security issues if you tried to visit USA.
