Of course I would recommend Girl Scouts. But truthfully, it really depends on what you are interested in. Around here the 4-H is mainly agricultural and science based. It depends on what their leaders decided to focus their group on. In Girl Scouting the program is more broad and less focused until you are in High School and you and your troop decides to focus on. There are a lot of merit to an all girl environment where girls can be girls and don't have to worry about impressing boys or being in compitition with them. I have had a couple of girls over the years in my troop that were in both organizations and applied the work they did in one to the other. Those girls had tons of badges. LOL

I would recommend 4-H. When I was in third grade I had to make a choice between the two and I choose 4-H. I have never regretted it since. I am now out of 4-H and in college, but the lessons and skills that I learned through 4-H have been invaluable. I mainly showed livestock, but there are endless possibilities that you can do through 4-H. The projects teach responsibility, leadership, and many other skills. I think that girl scouts is a wonderful group, but I got much more out of 4-H. I would also recommend FFA when you get into high school.

I did both as a kid and definitely vote for 4-H. While some say that an all female environemnt is empowering, I feel I learned more about being comfortable around ALL types of people by participating in 4-H

I liked both, but had to choose when I was little because I was in too too many activities. I recommend checking both out. Test them out. Try them out for a month. I think this is long enough to truly see what they have to offer. Then, decide. Both are great organizations and help build up a girl's self-esteem and well-being.

4h is way better because. 4h was created first and girl scouts was just a copy.
