Normal Values Return to top
For resting heart rate:
newborn infants; 100 to 160 beats per minute
children 1 to 10 years; 70 to 120 beats per minute
children over 10 and adults; 60 to 100 beats per minute
well-trained athletes; 40 to 60 beats per minute
What abnormal results mean Return to top
Resting heart rates that are consistently high (tachycardia) may indicate a problem, and you should consult a health care provider. Discuss resting heart rates that are below the normal values (bradycardia) with a health care provider.
Also, discuss a pulse that is very firm (bounding pulse) and that lasts for more than a few minutes with the health care provider. An irregular pulse can also indicate a problem. (See heartbeat sensations.)

The heart rate of a baby early in pregnancy can be up to about 180 and slows thereafter. You are probably reading it should be between 120-160. That applies to women after 12 weeks. And, even in women after 12 weeks occasionally you can hear a beat that high ... because like us, during activity the heart rate is higher. My son's was 186 at 8 weeks and he is a healthy 12 month old. This pregnancy (also a boy) was 169 at 7 weeks.

By strict medical definition, anything over 100 beats per minute is tachycardic, meaning rapid heart beat. A resting rate of 111 beats per minute is not normal. You should see a doctor if this is the case.

No, it is not normal. Anything over 100 beats per minute is considered to be tachycardia (too fast of a heartbeat.) You probably need to be checked by a physician. I hope this helps.

That's definitely a bit on the high side. Normal is 50 to 80.

your heartbeat is too fast i must say. THe normal range would be 60-80 beats.
You should see a doctor, if not it will develop into tachycardia.... which is very fast heartbeat. iT is of course not healthy

no. A female heartbeat is usually lower than that of a males. You could have a problem. Check your famiy history of heart attacks and strokes. You could be a stroke waiting to happen. Talk to your doctor about that soon.
