There are a lot of dog people in the world, but I am an adamant cat person.
The biggest domestic cat is probably the Maine Coon. There's also the Savannah cat, but they are quite rare.
The biggest dog would probably be either the Mastiff or the Irish Wolfhound (certainly the tallest.)

It depends what you want. Cats are more independant and don't suffer much when you are away. Dogs are very demanding and need time from you for companionship and play. The biggest cat I have seen was a Siamese cat that was about the size of a large small dog. I recall that the Manx cat is very big and has only a short tail. The biggest dog I believe is the Newfoundlander they can weigh 175 pounds easily.

The biggest is the Irish Wolfhound. Alaskan Malamutes can also be quite large, with some reaching 240 lbs+ (giant malamutes). Im a dog person, so I dont know the largest cat. If you have the time to spend training, get a german shepherd, they are loyal and protective if trained properly, as with most any dog

Well the best pet i think might be a dog but that's my own opinion. the biggest cat I'm not to sure of it but the biggest dog is a ST Bernard

Both cats and dogs are okay. The biggest wild cat is the tiger, and the tallest dog is probably the great dane.

I think the Main Coon (not sure of spelling) is the biggest domesticated cat. I love both cats and dogs, dogs are great loyal companions and I love how cats are so independent.

The biggest cat is a liger.
The biggest dog is a mastiff.
A liger does not make a good pet. Someone tried to give us a 250 mastiff once! "Rocky!!!!! Off the couch NOW!!!" We weren't about to fall for that.

Dog!!!!!!!!1 Irish wolfhound is the largest that I know of but i dont know about large cats. Personally i love my daschund if you really want a dog that loves to be with people. i also have a large dog thats a mutt and the sweetest dog u would want. have a cat too
