I know it doesn't seem like it now but he loves you and the world is a scary place out there. HE knows that and you do not! He may be going about some things all wrong but just remember this....a soft answer turns away wrath. He has SOOO many more years on you and much more life experience than you do. If you want to save yourself a lot of heartache take it from me.....listen to him. Wisdom is being able to learn from someone elses mistakes. Just know he loves you!

You better thank the Good Lord that you have a strict father. What if you had one that didn't care what you did like most kids. You'll understand it when you grow up. I did,.

I understand your concern but you don't tell anybody, or any person, to shut up. Most especially your father.
We all have a right to speak. What more our parents who are so concerned about us?
Instead of thinking to have your father shut up (whoever gave you that idea must have no idea of the 4th Commandment "Honor your father and your mother", try to talk to your father and tell him how you feel.
As young people, we are, most of the time, devoid of reasoning. But our parents listen to us no matter how narrow minded or shallow our reasons are. They don't tell us to shut up.

My father was strick. Always pushing me to do better, study more, be a better person. Finally when I was 23 I said enough and we had a long talk. He didn't relaise that he was putting so much presure on me. He just loves me and wanted me to be all I could be. Talk to your father.

if you really just want them to shut up, listen patiently and remind yourself that in a few minutes, his little rant will be over, and you can go on living life and thinking your thoughts in your head. the more you try to argue or give your opinion, the more he will go on and on about why he thinks the way he does

Join the military, it'll teach you discipline and structure-especially how to obey you authority and not talk back and follow orders as dictated to, no matter how irrelevant it might seem.

the best way is to just to what he tells you because then he is happy that he got his way. unfortunatly that is not always what is best for you. you just have to pick your battles. if it's not that important to you than just let it be. not everything he tells you to do could be worth fighting over. You'll both get over it when you both are older.
