In the context that Christ was speaking in, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is to attribute His work and power to the devil. The Pharisees said that Chirst did miracles by the power of Beelzebub (the devil). So in essence, they did blaspheme against the Holy Spirit for we know that the works that Christ did were by the power of the Holy Spirit---not Satan.

Blasphemy means someone that claims to be God. The pharisees accused Jesus of blasphemy because He said He was God. The Pharisees did turn away from the Holy Spirit when they rejected Jesus as the Messiah.----oh and DORIE, u don't HAVE to read the questions on religion, nor do you have to answer them.

No, that can only be done by God's elect.
For God's elect to deny the Holy Spirit to speak through them when they are delivered up to Satan.
Mar 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
It will never happen because God's elect can't wait for the opportunity.

I think the Pharisees are still around today. They are called Christians! Funny isn't it how life isn't what it appears to be on the surface.

is this what you call Pharisaical thinking? I am so sick of seeing all these ridiculous religious questions that belong in Sunday school. Why are the Christians the only ones to use this site as religious instruction,

Yes, remember when they said the healing could be from Satan, when He healed someone?
