I recently moved to New York less than a week ago and my girlfriend is coming to visit me before she leaves the country. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on places to visit and eat for this weekend. I'm a college student. So, that should give you an idea of my spending budget. Although, I'm willing to splurge a little considering the circumstances.

Take a ride on the Staten Island Ferry, go to Century 21 to shop-it is across the street from the World Trade Center Site. Make a reservation at the Four Seasons for the pretheater dinner at 6 PM. It is a gourmet meal in a place you have to wear a jacket and tie with superb service for only $65. The number is 212-754-9494. Go to a show afterwards. Get discount tickets in advance http://www.broadwaybox.com/
Go up on top of the Empire State Building.
The subways and buses take you everywhere you want to go. Buy a 6 trip ticket for the price of 5 rides.
Go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is wonderful

I'm from NY, upstate, but I've only been to the city twice in my life. Where I went: Central Park and The Museum of Natural History. Is the Statue of Liberty open for visitation now? Other than that, I don't know...I hear it's fun around Christmastime to see all the lights and decorations in the Christmas stores.

Take her to the Metropolitan Museum and the Central Park Zoo, also the Empire State building is not too expensive. For dinner, if you like Italian go to La Tre Venezie, west 46th. Reasonable and good, at least it was last time I went.

I drive a pedi-cab in midtown, I could set up a romantic tour of central park for you if you want.
As for restaurants, I would recomend MARS 2112. It's a crazy theme reastaurant where you fly a space ship to mars and have dinner on the red plannet. It's located at the corner of Broadway and 51st.
