I have no problems at the Catholic church but I just wanted to see if this was a problem in different areas.

As for som of your answers I think you just don't have a good understandings of the rue teachings of the Catholic Cuhrch.

I am a RCIA Director at my parish and see first hand that many eighter don't know the true teachings or don't want to know because they will have to make changes in their lives..

I will pray for all those who left the Catholic Church, that one day they will return home to celebrate with us and share Jeusu' body and blood.

Depends on the big picture. Are you leaving because the priest is doing something damaging? Then you have a duty to report the priest to the diocese - why let the others who continue to go be damaged.

Are you leaving because of a disagreement with what is preached? If it is out of line with Scripture or the Magisterium, he should be reported and rebuked. Priests submit to the administrative authority of their Diocese or Order.

Are you leaving because the priest is focusing on the elderly while you are needing to hear something appropriate to the 20- and 30-year-olds? That makes sense. My wife and I go to a nominally college church (though we have a large contingent of 20- and 30-year olds) because that is where we have built a strong and spiritual community.

If the move is edifying to you and brings you closer to Christ, it should be a good thing. But since you have responsibilities as an RCIA director, it should be made carefully with consideration for the others in your parish.

In Christ,

Not exactly..but I did leave the Catholic Church..and I found out the real meaning of the word sin. Realizing at the age of 21 that the Church was not only sexist (I am a woman and I respect myself!) but it is basically a dark ages institution. I find that Catholics stay even though they say that don't believe this or that about the Church..but face it..if you don't believe and live what the Catholic Church teaches, you are not a Catholic. It's called integrity! And it is self integrity...a very important thing...check out Dr. Wayne Dyer's books...explains it all.
Oh yes, the real meaning of the word sin...well in Spanish sin means without...and that is basically it...being without what you need. The real meaning of life is feeling good....check out Abraham a Spirit Guide as channeled through Ester Hicks one of the books is called "Ask and you shall receive."
Catholic church is the opposite of everything life is supposed to be and no good for any one.

No, but I left the Catholic Church altogether. Apart from the fact I didn't believe in God but was forced to when I was a child, I didn't agree with women not being recognised as equals in the church and not being able to use contraception and the disrespect shown to gay people. So I left. Best decision I ever made.

My parents did, my mother is very faithful but she hated the way women were treated in the Catholic church, so we left and have never gone back that was 16 years ago

i dont think its a sin if you go to a different church if you do not like the way the priest talks or carries out the Roman Catholic mass. i am Catholic and have a friend whose family came to my church and didn't like the way the priest told his homily or something, so they decided to go to another one. look around other places in your community and then decide from there which ones you like best.

i haven't because i am not catholic but my father is and once he just didn't like the way a priest gave his sermons and he felt he no conection spiritually through that parish so he went to another and is much happier now. a church is just like anything else, you have to shop around a see what suits your spiritual needs best. good luck!

Nope.... But instead, I made a cognitive decision to leave the Catholic Church. Period.

Peace be with you!
