the remax long drive competition here in south Africa we used pinnacle distance balls. And yes most of the pro would have their golf club lengthened to between 48 -50 inches. You must remember the average driver is between 44-45 inches so it is a big difference.

The easiest way to learn golf like a pro is by following "The Simple Golf Swing" program. It's primarily a 31 page eBook that teaches golfers how to make solid contact with the ball, how to avoid hitting fat, how to avoid slicing, how get more power, accuracy, and consistency in your swing. Consistency being the number 1 golf skill.

You not only get the eBook though, you also receive a ton of extra material including video, lessons on putting, driving, chipping, sand play etc. Here is their official site: http://www.golfswingguru.net

Most of the golders in that competition use 50 inch drivers and upward. Also, the only concern is distance the ball travels, so they use Pinnacle distance balls or Top-Flite Distance balls...they're not looking for control first.

No. I'm pretty sure they use the same drivers and balls as the rest of us. They get their distance with their swing speed, and strength. This one guy has a 160 M.P.H. swing speed. His longest drive is just over 500 yards. He has had a 20 second hangtime.

Equipment:

a) Entrants may provide their own golf clubs to enter the Challenge or may use the equipment provided at the Challenge, to the extent it may be available.

b) Any driver, wood or iron may be used in the Challenge; however, all golf clubs used must conform to the standards set by the United States Golf Association.

c) All entrants shall hit Pinnacle golf balls, of a model to be selected by Pinnacle in its sole discretion and to be provided by Pinnacle, at each Challenge event.

Your first concern should be to get the proper shaft for your swing. That will make the biggest difference in any distance gained. You can't believe everything that sales and marketing tries to cram down your throat. Go to an accredited club fitter and tell him what you're trying to do. His first assessment will be to evaluate your swing and recommend the proper shaft for that swing. You can still get a brand name driver but get one that has the proper shaft.

the drivers are REALLY long, you cant even play these on a course because they exceed the USGA standards. the drivers are specially made for long drive tournoments.
