You are correct St. Peter did start the church, but Jesus said peter upon this rock I will build my church.. Jesus gave him instructions to start it because he knew he would no longer be here with us to keep it going.

There are people against every religion in the world, not just the Catholic religion.

In Act 1:46 apostolic authority was passed to Matthias the first bishop. He was the first apostolic successor. Likewise, Peter was given the keys to the Kingdom. The early Church understood Peter's ministry to continue through the bishop of Rome where Peter was martyred.
The word Catholic was in use by 110, although it is not one word but originally two. It means either "all embracing," what Protestants would now call non-denominational or "according to the whole."
This is important because until Luther, there was but one Church. The Orthodox are not different Churches but the One Church in Schism.
Luther rightly saw the evil present in an important segment of the Catholic Church. The ultimate solution was wrong however. The German princes who supported Luther did so because to do so was perceived as being worth an enormous sum of money. The Reformation was a giant civil war. The attrocities on both sides were extraordinary. Luther, for example, had 20,000 baptists burned at the stake. The original baptists killed anyone who refused to believe the way they did. The Catholic princes formed armies to attack the Protestants.
When you start killing people, it is really hard to say "sorry."
Very few Protestants really understand the issues between the Catholic Church and the 46,000 Protestant denominations. Most of them are meaningless. The "biggies" are really not that big. It is the small ones that are usually the real issues.

The Catholic religion was invented by Roman Emperor Constantine in 325 CE (ad).
And the Catholic religion forged documents to support Constantine's "Trinitarian" doctrine.
Jesus was not God, there is no Trinity and the pope is not the head of any church Jesus started. Jesus did not establish a church. Constantine did.
Besides that, the Catholic church is a nation, just like any other nation, including the US, Mexico, Italy, whatever.

I think it depends on where you live. Outside of New York City, there are over 1 million Catholics. Lots of people don't know about the teachings of the Church, but,over the years, they've heard lots of strange stories. When America was first founded most of the colonists were non-Catholics and there was a great deal of prejudice among religions. Rhode Island was founded by Roger Williams because his ideas were unacceptable to the Puritans.

the catholic religion by the way was not started by christ . I am catholic myself . In the new testament their is nothing that says christ created the catholic church ....what he did was give laws to live by ...basically after his death followers were prosecuted for their beliefs...going back in history with the roman empire when they were tossed intothe coliseum for sport and eaten by lions ...thats how roman catholics were formed and then to disagrement in the church factors broke off!!!! ( thats how you get the term christianity ) hatred is formed when one religion thinks themselves better as the chosen group ...you can look this up ...!!! Sorry I was brought up all my life as catholic ...went to private catholic schools and studied religion through out that time ...maybe you should have a talk with your priest

i think the ACLU and homos are behind it all
they need to rid the world of the bible
to excuse their behavior
there are other churches that also believe they were organized by god and others that go back before Jesus as he was a Jew
