If I try it, will I get involuntary or voluntary clairvoyance?

Wow, I cannot believe the number of rude, put-down, ignorant and inconsiderate answers people here gave you!

I hope I can help clear up a few things about clairvoyance. There is a type of clairvoyance called "hypnogagia" or "hypnagogic visions". These occur between the sleeping and awake state. You are "conscious" when these images appear, but you are very very relaxed.

The very first time that one ever notices them, they are involuntary. You just need to pay attention to these images when they appear. They do have meaning, some are symbolic, some are literal or both.

As for voluntary, I think you are talking about being in control of what you see kind of like asking a specific question or using some type of divination tool and then receiving the answers via the images. Is that what you mean?

There is truly nothing to be fearful of all that comes from within yourself. You need to educate yourself and erase whatever ignorance you have within that is causing you to have these fears. Face them and try to understand why you have them, then they'll cease to exist.

I write about these images that appear to me and interpret their meanings on my 360 blog http://360.yahoo.com/stacysgarage I'm just starting to label these posts as "hypnogagic" but some of the earlier post headings don't say so, you have to kind of go through some of them to find the posts where I am explaining these images and their meanings if you would like to understand some more about it.

Hope that helps! And I pray that more people give you considerate, loving and well thought out answers!

Easy problem to solve.

What you have to do is grow a second head. Then that head learns clairvoyance while your original (or primary) head does not. Then you switch your consciousness from your primary head--which is not clairvoyant--to your secondary head (which is) as needed.

That way even if your secondary head DOES develop involuntary clairvoyance it doesn't matter, because your actual consciousness will only be tapping into it when it needs to.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

There is no such thing as clairvoyance. Keep in mind that for the past several decades James Randi has been offering a $1,000,000 prize to anyone who can reliable demonstrate any sort of psychic ability. So far no one has been able to claim it.

Don't you think that if it existed someone would have come forward with "the gift" by now?

You cannot learn clairvoyance.

But, feel free to waste your time. And, don't worry about "involuntary clairvoyance" since you won't be able to become voluntarily clairvoyant.

Clairvoyance isn't something you learn it's something you are born with if in fact people who say they are being truthful . So I wouldn't worry about it.

Start right now. What am I thinking about your question?

You're right! But that wasn't clairvoyance. You were just perceptive enough to recognize mockery.

I'm not trying to put you down, but your grammar is atrocious- you really should forget about "learning" how to do something that is to date completely unproven, and learn some basic grammar. Read some books! You are scared of the wrong things.

I didn't think clairvoyance was something you learned I thought it was something you were born with.
