Well it's simple, the US wants them here. I am in management and there is one simple way to not hire illegals. Do a simple background check and it will tell you if their social # is good or if they have an ID or Driver's License number. It really is that simple!

Now, all you ignorant people should do some research b-4 answering such a simple question. The government wants them here, that is why they are here. Do a simple background check and they will not be able to get jobs HERE! Then, they will not come or will have to leave as they will go hungry.

The real question is, why doesn't the US make background checks a must for employment and in that same manner subsidice such a background check. Truth is... The economy needs them. If you now pay $1 for a pound of any vegetable, would you like to pay 3 or 4 dollars for the same quality product if a lazy American (white, black, hispanic or whatever he/she is) were to pick the same vegetable?

mexicans come here because the jobs are betetr than home

emplyers do not do background checks as you sugest because they do not wan to.
they want to hire illegals and they know they are doing it because it saves money. that is all they care about.

the government needs to prosecute the employers instead of harassing the mexicans and the practice will stop.

the present administration that has hi-jacked the american government temporarily does not want the mexicans to stay home. they want them to come here and help big business who put them in power.
so there really is nobody to help us stop it until we get a new government.

mexico has promised BUSH they will let him control mexican oil if he lets the mexicans come here as it helps mexico too.
it relives social pressure and economic crisis and prevents revolt.

I know a Realtor who said that a background check is just a waste of time. The Realtor said that they sell many houses knowing darn well that the illegals are using false information. I had to laugh when they said how a young person wanted to buy a home with a ss# that would have made them quite older than they were. They sold it to them anyway. Ha...Now on the other hand when NAFTA went into effect and various corporations went south of the border it brought a slight relief to the poorer Mexican people. The corporations left that country a mess and the people without jobs. So you wonder why they are coming here in droves. President Bush opened up the gates for them. One way to alter the pay scale for American workers. Eventually we'll all be in the same boat, low paid workers. Slave class to the rich.

I dont think the government wants them here, why dont we raise minimum wage and send the illegals back??? Then some of the jobs that us americans didnt want to work will now seem more appealing to them with more pay. I agree with the other lady, close all borders, send all illegals back, and totally cut them off of any assistance that is taking away from real americans that pay taxes and are already legal, I think we should send the ones back that come here just to have babies on WIC and medicaid by the way, and send their ******* asses back, they have no respect for our country because if they did, they wouldnt be littering all over the apartment complexes and knocking people over at the dollar stores, rotten bastards!!!! Oh yes, come on, I know this is the best answer!!!! TYTYTYTYTY

You ask the question that everyone are waiting form our Congress and I am glad you are honest and telling the truth.I will not mind to pay more for my food because,I live in the state of California and I have been told that our state had to pay 20 billion for illegal brothers and sisters and we have no money to educate our children in school.Since the money never spend in U.S. and the illegal send them all back 3 billion a year. Now this is fact and my state is hurting and believe me I am telling the truth.I do mind if someone do not like me or think I am racist against others I stand by my principle and this s the way I live in this country as an legal immigrant for 30 nyears ago.

There are a small number of times when employers who knowingly hired illegals were sanctioned. This big round up and deportation circus is just a show for those that do not want illegals in the country. There are so many not that the ecomomy would take a real hit if all Mexicans were deported.

If we fine those employers wouldn't the money collected keep the produce low too? The issue of illegal immigration should not be so focused on one specific race anyhow. All those illegal immigrants that come here illegally should be sent home, because the are breaking the law. I am paying more for gas right now, I am willing to pay more for produce.

Do your own research. You would pay a nickle more for a tomato. Most of the cost is not in the labor.

It is the employer who saves, not the consumer, while we all pay the cost of degraded education in overcrowded and underfunded schools, and all have to rely on health care and services that no longer are adequate.

I agree the government wants them here, or they would enforce our laws.

That leads me to the conclusion that we need new people in government.

Yummy........

My answer (community guidelines).......popcorn and cotton candy.

The vegetable analogy.....well that is played out.....but the background check....that I have always wondered about. My husband requires them for those he hires and my step-son recently received a letter telling him that "while he was eligible" he needed to take care of a ticket.

I don't WANT the government to POLICE hiring.......I just wonder why everyone thinks GOOD employers DON'T.

Thank you and I totally agree with you!

My husband, who is a legal resident from Mexico has asked me this many times! Its such a simple solution but yet the govt. doesn't want to solve it, by enforcing these laws.....

Its no secret to me why the US govt doesn't really want to do anything about the illegal issue. You didn't mention that Mexico is one of USA greatest crude oil supplier. They are not stupid and dont want to spoil relations with Mexico. Mexico sells US very cheap crude oil....They are our neighbors to the south and supply a big chunk of our oil....

Its all about politics my friend....Thanks for stating the obvious!

Texas Co. Hired Illegals to Make MREs

McALLEN, Texas, Oct. 28, 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(AP) A Texas employment agency was sentenced to five years of probation for hiring illegal immigrants to work at the nation's top producer of military battlefield rations, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

The Tollin Group was also fined $20,000 and ordered to pay $414,000 in civil penalties Wednesday. It has been barred from Department of Defense contracts for three years.

The San Antonio-based company, which does business as Remedy Intelligent Staffing, pleaded guilty in January to hiring illegal immigrants and trying to cover it up by falsifying employment eligibility forms. The workers were hired for Wornick Co., which makes MREs _ or "meals ready-to-eat."

The investigation was initiated in February 2003 after an al-Qaida operative was arrested with information pointing to McAllen and Wornick as terrorist targets. Wornick had been awarded a $47 million contract to produce more than 1.1 million MREs for U.S. forces in Iraq.

The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force ran background checks on Wornick employees and found hundreds of temporary employees with fraudulent documentation.

No direct link to terrorism was found.
