I'm a black female and my hair is very thick. I haven't found a relaxer that straightens it out like I would like it.

a good relaxer is the iso maintamer it is alot safer because it dosent use the same main ingredient as most other relaxers. it does though smell alittle foul. but for great looking hair it worth it. i have used maintammer a few times on cleints and it works great. it leaves your hair feeling like nothing you will have ever experienced.

I would not try to relax your hair at home. I have heard HORROR stories on the product Easy Straight. Go to a salon that specifically deals with this type of procedure. I had a relaxer done at a paul mitchell salon. The relaxer they used is called artec, I believe I spelled it right. This worked fabulous on my hair. Cost about fifty bucks, but well worth it. And very gentle on the hair. Lasts about six months. remember though, if you do this, it is very hard to make your hair curly until it all grows out. I like wearing my hair both ways, so I just use a good flat iron. My hair dresser says that this will even straighten black people's hair as well. I had asked her because my friend who is black was interested in having it done. Hope this works. I have had this procedure done twice and both times, no damage to my hair. I stress that you find some one that absolutley knows what they are doing though. If this product is left on too long, it can fry your hair. Good luck!
