Don't do it. We learned back in the 1960s when it was a fad then, that it was dangerous. Eating a bunch of proteins and fats will not make you lose weight, especially when your diet is supposed to be mostly carbs, with a little fat, protein, and simple sugars.

Get on a sensible diet. Fewer than 1200 calories a day is dangerous. Balance your diet.

3500 calories = 1 pound

If you eat 1400 calories a day, and burn about 300 extra calories a day with exercise, the weight will come off.

Always check with a doctor before trying a diet or weight loss program.

I wont tell you not to go on a low carb lifestyle nor will i tell you that its not good or that it doesn't work what i will tell you is that it works but you have to be serious about it its not a diet that you can just stop you must be willing to stay that way for the rest of your life because as soon as you stop you will gain the weight back quickly I went on the Atkins diet for 2 years and lost 85 lbs but went off it for a period of 8 months i didn't pig out but i did eat veggies and some bread and now I'm back to where i started so when they say that its a lifestyle not a diet they aren't kidding but if you are serious it works very well

I have gone on and off this diet for yrs, it is very hard to stick to. I hate eggs/ meat, but I substitute protein bars. It's the only thing that gets me thru it. I yoyo diet, when I get to a size 16, I go back on it for about 8 weeks/ until I get to a size 10. I also eat a peice of Russell Stoffer's candy a day, it's 3 carbs well spent. If you hit a plateau and stop losing weight, back off by 5 carbs a day and it will jump start you again.

Everybody was quick to bash Dr. Atkins with his diet, but it works and why? He substituted bleached wheat products for whole grain products and this exact diet is very similar in nature to the diet for those with hypoglycemia.
To answer your part about having stopped loosing, we all hit a peak where the lose slows down. Give it a week, rest your body from the diet and then resume. Remember though exercise and eating habits must be new lifestyles since when we get to our goal, we go back to our old eating habits and the weight mysteriously comes back on. Wanna know why? Your body's metabolism has changed and is not burning at the same rate.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

Eat small amounts of fruit, no meat only fish, eat tunafish from a can mixed with pinaaple for fast results this is what body builders eat to look lean and cut for contests. Drink nothing but water, stay away from eggs, eat only egg WHITES. Run better than walking
