What scripture would that be based on anyway?
The bible says that you will be judged by God's law. And if found guilty, you will go to hell. There are many places in the bible showing a condition for going to heaven. If this, then that. If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is who he claimed to be, repent and trust in Him, then you will be saved.
It doesn't say, "awwww. what the heck. everyone's in. let's party!" It says that God is a just judge. Would a just judge let someone who breaks the law just go. The answer is no. The thing is we all have broken the law. And we will stand before God. Guilty. He should send us all to hell, but Jesus has stepped in and said that he will pay our fine. A fine that we could never afford on our own.
You are right. Jesus did pay it all for us for all time. But there is a requirement on our part as well. Many times it say in the bible "if" in regards to salvation.

You gotta believe to be saved. When you become a Christian your mindset changes. You don't want to sin as much. Your ways change. You won't be perfect. I also like the fact that you didn't say that Baptism is necessary. Its not. Acts 2:38 refers to purifying in the name of Jesus Christ. Accepting him and letting him in you life. By the way I'm a Bible Reading Baptist.

Actually I would feel pretty good about it if you remember he wiped the slate clean and then we all started again the next day.
He didn't die to get us out of future sins. There's a great deal more to that like stop sinning, and if you slip because you're human, really feel bad about it (no faking here) And when you really regret your sins, confess them and ask for forgiveness.
And, finally, if you do them again, you're right back to where you started.
You just oversimplified it, but that's OK.

WRONG! Yes He died for the sins of the world but if you dont place your faith in that or could care less, he will say to you, I never knew you. If you never heard of Christ, you will be judged by the light that is within you. I dont know anyones afterlife destination. I can only tell you what God says in the Bible.

so...we can make fun of Jesus, ignore all His teachings, call His followers a bunch of stupid sheep, burn the Bible, and actively fight against Him by following other "prophets."
but then when we die and we meet Him face to face, we just say, "Oh I was kidding about all that." and we waltz into heaven like we feel right at home there.
no, sorry, I don't believe that. if you can't accept Jesus Christ on earth, how are you going to get along with Him in person?

In order for one to be saved, that person has to BELIEVE. There are LOTS of people who do not believe. They are the ones that shouldn't relax. Why would God want us, as Christians, to go into all the world and tell the GOOD NEWS if we were already all saved??????

I would say that Jesus did pay for everyone's sin but he said that all that believe in him shall have everlasting life so one must believe in him. So those who believe and are saved are the only one's not going to hell.

I feel that it's ridiculous. If I believed in any of this, then I would be angry that God had taken my free will by giving Jesus the power to do that. . .what if someone actually wanted to go to your imaginary Hell?
