I cannot offer proof either way. As an athiest in a predominantly Christian country, I know the basic progression of Jesus' life and his place in history.
I believe that Jesus did exist (but am open to proof to the contrary), and I am open to the possibility that there was something unusual about him that made him the historical figure he has become.
I don't believe in a god. Even if I did, I doubt that I would believe that Jesus was literally the son of god. I don't believe in the immaculate conception; if it did occur, I would look for a rational medical explanation.
I believe that, like Buddha, Jesus was a teacher who still inspires people to treat the world and people around them with love and respect. This in itself does not warrant or require a religious doctrine.

The Bible is accurate and true. All of the writings about Jesus are true and accurate. The Bible says Jesus was the Son of God. For thousands of years Jesus was talked about in the Old Testament. Jesus fulfilled ALL of those prophecies concerning Himself. The odds of one man fulfilling all of the prophecies in the Old Testament are 10/356th power. That's a 1 followed by 356,000 zeros. Jesus wasn't a lunatic, He was and is the Son of God.

Yes, He was the son of God. But when asked "How shall we pray? " He let all of mankind know where we stand. He said "Our Father which art in Heaven..." It was such a perfect prayer the christian leaders of that time, did not think to change it( or they would have).
God is the Father of us all. We are all the children of GOD.
Religions were created by man to control, and manipulate the masses. POWER over others.
Napoleon once said "Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich."

so, is it the place of the retards that do beleive and don't wanna understand what they believe and who are afraid of science because it may prove the opposite of the belief they put their faith in?
I don't think "obscurantism" (trying to avoid the progress to feel better in what we know so far and/or trying to step back on some progress) is the best can be done.
To get back to the question: According to Nietzsche (one of the greatest philosopher of all time), Jesus was more like a philosopher himself, and it's after he was dead, that a lot of crap was said about him and his life. Christians were more like Jewish people tired of what became the jewish church at that time (rich, powerful, no more real spiritual thinking) and that wanted to reset the meter (like what did in the middle ages protestants to catholic church for the same reasons)

Yes Jesus really was and is the Son of God. And He is who He says He is.
Proof? Jesus performed miracle upon miracle, and still people demanded proof. Fact is, Jesus could be right in front of you and you'd still demand a miracle wouldn't you?
Belief in Jesus is by faith not by sight. Jesus said "blessed are they who believe but do not see."

We're all "sons of God" in the metaphorical, philosophical sense... if you define "God" as the creative force of our Universe as we know it. The problem with organized religion is that it uses fables to rationalize philosophical and moral dilemmas of mankind. It transforms this creative force (God) into some human-resembling, moral-making, emotion-feeling, idealogue. As long as humanity continues to rationalize the meaning of life through ancient fables, we will remain an ignorant and unevolved species.

As soon as you prove you are really an atheist. And obviously just saying you are, doesn't prove it. Even a Christian can lie.
