I set up a page on myspace to find and look for people I know from New Orledans, never meant to use it as a essential tool for dating, anyway I sent a friend request to this guy on myspace and we actually met up and went on a date. Do people do this all the time? Am I crazy for doing this? Does this actually work for people?

Be very careful! It's easy to lie online, in person you can read people's body language and tone of voice to see if they are lieing. And the person you meet up with could be a rapist or lieing about their age. It's easy to get someone else's pic and put it on your myspace. Be CAREFUL!!

You should not worry so much about what other people are doing or what they think of you. Do what feels right; according to your own priorities and beliefs.
It's incredibly common for people to date online, or meet someone in person they met online.
Ask yourself this question. If the man of your dreams; the only guy who could ever make you happy was on myspace and wanted to meet you; would you turn him down simply beacuse it's "online"? That would be foolish.
My only advice here is to be careful meeting anyone from the internet. Online and real life are two different worlds. Few people are honest in person, even less are honest online.

Some people that u can meet on the there can be real nice and real good people so it is cool but u need to beware of the perverts there have been a lot of women raped and murdered from meeting people online i mean if u wanna take the chance then no one can stop you but just be careful cause not everyone is as nice and innocent as some of the ones that u might meet. I would be very cautious of who you meet cause online u can be anyone that u wanna make yourself out to be and in real life u can be totally different and be a very bad person.

I don't have a myspace anymore, but last year when I did I met a lot of cool, interesting people off of it. I never dated any of them but alot of them became really good friends. I always met people though at public functions like concerts or the mall and always with friends. But, no its not crazy.

i'll tell you a story, im not much for internet dating ive only had a couple but they can be the most interensting types of relationships, i don't know whether your fimilair with thedilly.com which is similiar to myspace but i met my girlfriend the febuary of 2004 on there and we instantly fell in love and we talked for about 8 months till the following december of 2004 she moved from colombia to newyork( which is where i live) and we learned eachothers languages and its very interesting to meet people from everywhere, its good to know what is out there because if you just meet people from your area you don't know whats else is better for you out there and its really a great experience, currently me and my girlfreind are on great terms and we really enjoy being together and i owe it all to internet dating, we plan to marry soon :P hopefully good luck let me know if you have any questions about ur advice

It depends on how old you are. There is a big thing about meeting people online and getting kidnapped, killed, or worse. If you are mature enough to meet in a public place and far away from your house (so they don't follow) then sure. I have. And there isn't a day that goes by that I don't regret letting him go.

You have to be careful because not All people, on the internet arent who they say they are. Just try to go other places and met friends, it would be safer. Just my opinion.
