It's nice to feel responsible.

An idea is the substance of our hopes and dreams. Making that idea into reality is within our control....That's how this works here. Sit and wait...Get manipulated a little more....

The belief in something that you can't see, hear, or touch. No matter how much evidence there is to9 the contrary, still believing in something.

Faith is a question. It comes down to whether you want to live in the question or the asnwer. If you fear the uncertain, and doubt what you cannot see or touch then people usually go towards science, and cant have faith in something as unperceivable as God. But if you wish for something that has a meaning so high that you cant even begin to understand it, and your willing to devote your life to actually working frot his greater cause. And not only with the hardships that come wit a task that magnificent, but the entire time not knowing what will happen when your job is done here, thats faith. Faith is the question of choice. Do you have enough faith to choose by your given right of freewill to hope and wait? Because that's all we can do in the end.

When u believe, things do happen. Besides, u can't expect everything to happen at the same time. People wait for a lot of things. Religion and faith attempt to explain why things happen the way they do...from conceptiion, to death. I think it's better that way. Yah, I know a guy who woke up paralyzed...but only because he was shot in the head two months before. Yeah, I had a dream I could fly, but I watched Lois and Clark before I went to bed. Miracles do happen, but they're different to different people. I know many who shouldn't be alive today, but they are...how do u explain it? Faith in a higher being. If u walked the exact path Jesus did, the US would be a third world country. Even people in his time wanted things to get better for them, and he said pray, have faith, and wait...ask and u shall receive, but w/o faith, it's not possible to get it through HIM(I learned that the hard way). Things did eventually get better for HIS followers, and it will for us too. I'm not saying HE is the ONLY way to get prayers answered and go to heaven, but I do believe u have to have faith(any kind of faith in anything) for it to happen. When miracles that are feasable do happen, it's announced...watch dateline once in a while...or Montel, but u want people to announce that u had a dream u could fly? I've heard stories of people who woke up in the middle of surgery...but they were paralyzed...so they were screwed...and then the news media found out about it, and cases have been reported, and things are being done to make anestetics better. I've seen people fly, but they're usually thrown from something. Believe me, when something out of the ordinary happens once or twice...it will be reported on.

I'm not sure I follow you. But your 1st & last sentence make sense. Faith is kinda not knowing & hoping. And you do have to believe and wait in some regards. It sounds like you may be doubting your faith. That's normal to question things. When I had a phase of doubt, my mom told me, "Let's say you do just die & there's nothing at all after death. Isn't trying to be the best person you can a nice way to live?" So I try to be the best person I can . . . for me. Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

there are two types of faith.

1. the "trust" type of faith

2. blind faith

the trust type of faith always has doubt that goes along with it. it's like,,, if you walk into a room and sit down on a chair without first inspecting it. you don't KNOW FOR A FACT that the chair will hold you up. you just TRUST that it will. so you have faith that the chair will hold you up. but you also recognize the fact that it MIGHT not.

this is important to point out. if you're using the "trust" type of faith, then you have to admit that you're not 100% sure and that you MIGHT be wrong.

most christians don't want to compare their convictions to this type of faith though, because they don't want it to sound like there are any doubts.

so they define their faith definitely. they define it as believing in god and jesus unconditionally and not requiring any evidence of proof. am i right, christians?? correct me if i'm wrong. --- well the thing is,,, this type of faith is known as BLIND faith, and it's completely different from the other type of faith.

of course,,, the moment a christian hears the word "blind faith", they can't help but notice how awful it sounds, so they reject that too. but,,, just because we don't call it blind, doesn't mean that it's NOT blind. believing in something unconditionally or unyieldingly is EXACTLY THE SAME THING as believing in it BLINDLY. and it is a terrible way to come to any conclusion. we should never blindly accept anything.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

By the way, I used to be a medium as a child and those things you mentionned... I experienced them...

People with faith are those that simply believe in what they feel is right. It is not hope, it is a deeper sense of knowing. Where do the references to witchcraft and sleep paralysis come in?

I have actually had many of those flying dreams. I really like them. I just can't seem to understand how a guy 2000 years ago was resurected like that. He was a great teacher though I think. I have less and less faith as I age. It seems a lot like when someone says "just trust me." Its usually a sure sign that you shouldn't.

What do you mean you have to believe and wait? If you are unsure about God then you need to deal with that. You can know the truth now while you're still alive. There are just some things we can't understand.

Your first sentence is totally wrong. When you say "have Faith" you mean you believe and know. Theres no guessing or hoping. thats not having faith, it's the opposit of having faith.
