That would explain the hostility and the desperate attempts to convert us so we can't have any fun either.

Religious people are not jealous of the fun you're having because they have the same fun too - they just do it in secret.

They are jealous that you flaunt and admit to it with no fear of punishment.

Define fun. I have seen to many people having "fun" ending up in the emergency room, or worse the morgue. Sadly, in some cases, the person having "fun" is ok, but some stranger ends up in the E.R. or worse. So understanding what "fun" is would help so we can all see what the religious people are jealous of.

I have never met anyone who was converted by a hostile and desperate religious person. Which religion out there is running on a quota system? Belief is a choice. We will all know who was right once we die. Then of course, if the religious person was right, it could be unfortunate for the rest, depending on what you believe after you die.

I can promise you that I would not go to an atheist web site if there was one. You hold no facination for me. You have no answers that I would seek. Your non-beliefs do not appeal to me. I would not go to an atheist site and try to cause arguments.

I wish I could understand why you insist on asking questions and trying to rile believers on this site.

The only thing I can think of is that you are not sure of anything that you espouse and you are looking for justifacation for your non-belief. You are not sure of what you don't believe in. You have no hope and are looking to find the truth.

Well, you are looking in the right place. Jesus Christ is the hope you are looking for and His teachings are true. So why don't you take off the dark glasses and come into the light and find what you are so desperately searching for. Jesus is the way and the truth and the life and only through Him can you come unto the Father and find the truth and peace that you are so desperately searching for.

Jesus loves you.

Sorry to hurt your feeling but I am not the least bit jealous of you and I just don't think that you could even imagine how much fun I do have. I am a Christian Biker and I walk in a world that can be very brutal. I hang out with 1%er, some very hardcore people. They know what I am about and they respect me. I earned it by living what I believe. They see it and trust me on this, if they thought I was fake for just on second do you think that I would be able to get away with it around them? Get real.

I don't have the time to worry about being hostile. I have a real and very exciting life. So I would tell you don't flatter yourself that much I don't have the time to deal with people who do not care to hear or believe. My time is saved for the real people not fakers.

Sorry to be hard on you but truth is truth.

No,I don't think they are jealous. Some Christians may seem to be forcing their religion on others because they really beleive they are doing what they should be doing.
As far as fun- different people have different ideas of what's "fun".
It bothers me when I see and hear people argue over the issue with stupid cut downs and silliness-a good debate would prove far better. I also hate it when I feel something is being forced down my throat and it doesn't matter whether it's coming from a christian or an atheist.
I just hate disrespect for other people's beleifs and it doesn't matter to me whether you are an athiest-christian-or whatever.
It's no always easy to walk away if someone is doing that-but you need to give it your best effort.

Religious people are not jealous of us. They just don't understand us (or want to, in most cases). They are programmed at an early age to share and convert. If you read their Bibles, you will find that "bringing people to salvation" is considered the "duty" of all. It is a form of manipulation and a way to insure the survival of the selected faith. Without recruitment, fear tactics, and the superstitious nature of mankind, these cults (look up the definition of "cult" and you will see how religious faiths fall into the category) would cease to exist.
Most people of Faith have more fun than most Atheists I know. This just proves to me how weak their faith and beliefs are. I tend to believe that most Christians, for example, are liars because if they truely believed in the teachings of the Bible, they would not drink and drug, commit acts of voilence and abuse, then use prayer as a "loophole" to get out of their "sins". Confession For Catholics is similar. Either way, as long as the "guidelines" are followed, all is "forgiven". This tends to take responsibility for one's own actions out of the picture. Their hostility toward us Atheists stems from their fear of the unknown (we can't be understood in their minds, so we must be shunned and, if possible, wiped out). Anything people of faith cannot understand becomes unacceptable. Evolution and death are good examples. Why fear death when you can have eternal life? And let us just ignore scientific fact because the Bible's explanation doesn't match! (Science is acceptable only if it prolongs life: once again, the fear of death is at play.)
Truth threatens the very existance of religion. Bibles and the refusal to let go of the past (just imagine having to admit that everything your ancestors taught their descendants all the way down to you was wrong), as well as the monitary factor (religion makes a lot of money and is tax-free in this country) and fear, contribute to the continuation of religion.
It would be nice if it were as simple as jealousy.

Why do you think Christians can"t have fun. We only are different in the things we think are fun. If you think drinking and do drugs, so-forth and so-on are fun, go for it. God will take care of you on the judgement-day. Christians enjoy other activities. There family, worship, skating, riding a 4-wheeler,working in the yard, our job and just loving our loved ones.
The most important is looking forward to our mansion in the sky.
John14-2
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3-And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

I'm of two minds: yes, I am jealous. I feel like a dog on a leash

And no, I'm sad for them, because perhaps they've never seen the truth. Inarticulate beauty that is beyond description, and can only be achieved when God touches you. It doesn't matter what you believe then. You can just be who you are created to be and that's all. Do your best with what you have.

Why would we get jealous? are you really happy? We, too, are having all the fun that we have..without having to break the rules. Because we know that no matter how bad we become in the end good will prevail. May God Bless you and touch your Life. He's waiting for you. Be happy!

Sometimes I think it's more about morality than religion. Many religious people complain about the lack of moral standards that we have compared to theirs...So I think that their nagging is also modivated by them merely trying to preserve their society b/c they feel how they live is the right way to live...It's sort of a reactionary thing I guess. Afterall, they're essentially standing up for what they believe in and protecting their children by doing it....They're trying to make the world a better and more 'moral' place for future generations.

It's what they believe is right, and will protect everyone.

Obviously there's more to it, I'm just throwing that in as another explanation of their hostility and crusading.

Cause nothing more makes me want to become Christian than listening to someone w/ a severe case of 'I'm holier than thou' syndrome.

I'm religious. I can do whatever I want, as long it doesn't hurt myself or another living creature. I have fun. So what's there to jealous over? I am just like you, only I have found the love and acceptance of my Lord and Lady, and I strive to glorify them in my life. Blessed Be.
