A person I know said the mark on her neck was an insect bite that she didnt know about. I didnt ask further but I looked terribly like a hickey. I really don't care about her personal affairs, just wondering if there ARE any insect bites that look like hickies.

Well It could be a spider bite, they look like hickies if they are picked at or when they are infected

The answer is yes it is possible. Inher case I find that the location makes it highly unlikely. I was bitten by a spider close to my behind my immune system reacted by shutting down my system therefore my vasdcular system shut down resulting in what looked like a huge hickey on my behind but I had many other symptoms and was put in the hospital for 8 days as well as requiring treatment for a year after.

well it's a good thing you don't want to get involved in her personal life but i doubt it was a bug bite. unless it was just red or pink then that could be possible due it irritation around the bite to the skin. but if it was dark purple like most hickeys (it turns purple due to the raising of blood to the skin) then it was a hickey. if a bug bite did that then i would assume she is going to need to see a doctor very soon. but more then likely she's a really bad liar.

Not that I am aware of that there are any insects that would leave a mark like that on you neck or any other place on your boby.
When spiders or any other insect bites you it would leave a itchy rash.

Spruce beetles look like hickies, but, small hickes.

i believe that a centipede or millipede bite will create such a mark, but they really aren't big, about the size of a button on a shirt. dont quote me on this, but i was bitten by a centi/millipede many years ago when i was...well...younger and just going on what i remember. hope that helps

otherwise, she tripped while vaccuming and the vaccum attacked her.
