Well it makes up 100% so most meals contain carbs, breakfast & lunch being the main offenders. So it was a food group generally with a stronger presence across all meals. Protein should be about 30 & fats 20 but hey whatever.

No, there is a science to this I'm sure.

The body can't absorb more than a certain amount of protein per day and it only needs a certain proportion of fat for the amount of calries consumed per day. What the body mostly neds to continue to function is carbohydrate which is easily digested, absorbed and used. It is the most efficient form of energy for the body. Fat is used after carbohydrate but is also needed to nurish the brain and nerves. Proteins are to repair muscles and other matter inside the body that needs protein. The body does not need an extraordinary amount of protein to repair or fats to repair and store.
