Inquiry hits don't seem to have any "set" points. But they do seem to generally run from somewhere between 2 to 7 for a hard inq.

The inq's stay on your reports for 2 years, and they start to lose their effect around 6 months. They have no effect after 1 year.

For revolving credit inquiries: -10.

For Instant revolving credit {Store credit cards} -15-20 depends on the credit bureau.

Multiple loan inquiries done the same day: -10 but will count as only one.

All inquiries will stay on your credit reports for a period of 2-years.

There's no set number of points; I think how heavily inquiries are weighed depends on your unique set of factors. I have seen a hard hit do as little as a few points damage up to over 20.
