i think this question is asked every day. no, your hair will not grow faster when trimmed because hair grows from within the scalp not at the hairs ends. getting it trimmed will make it look neater.

Yes. But it is not true that if you pull on it, it will grow faster.

I think hair grows faster when you trim it because then all the nutriens aren't going towards repairing split ends.

Sort of. The follicles will not actually grow faster, but they won't break as fast if your hair is trimmed regularly, because you'll be removing damaged hair and split ends.

So, if you want long hair, keep it healthy by trimming/conditioning etc.

I have always heard that when you trim the dead ends off it makes the hair lighter, not so heavy, and so it grows faster, not sure though im not a hair stylist

If you trim away the dead ends, your hair will be healthier. And yes, healthier hair does seem to grow somewhat faster than non-healthy hair.

yes, it keeps away split ends that get in the way. That and weiring your hair in a pony tail causes it to grow faster.

it's not about you trimming it necessarily that grows it.when u trim your hair,u trim off split ends.when you trim split ends you are helping your strands to survive.because split ends are wut they say...they split all the way up your strand slowly tearing that strand all the way up until it breaks off.if u trim the ragged split end u prevent that whole strand from breaking.why?u stop the split, clip, continue with the growth of that strand.and so on with every split.keep em'trimmed at least every 2 weeks or eery month

No. That is an old wives's tale. Massaging the scalp for a few minutes a day will stimulate blood flow and can help increase growth.
