Hormones are produced and excreted in the body by organs generally known as GLANDS. There are 2 types: (1) exocrine glands (which do not secrete into the bloodstream, like salivary glands), and (2) endocrine glands (which do secrete into the blood). These are the glands that produce what we know as HORMONES.
The most important endocrine gland (aka the "master gland") is called the pituitary. It's located in the brain, is about the size of an acorn, but amazingly, produces about 10 different hormones all by itself! Other glands include the thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands, pineal gland, and the gonads (testes / ovaries).
