No it's not considered high. But, if you refuse to pay off a card with $12 on it, it will end up in court. It's a little late to try to settle the account.

Yes. In fact, you could probably contact them and offer half if they will drop the case. Ask them how much they will settle for, first. They would probably rather get half than pay court costs.
I could be wrong, but it doesn't hurt to try. Also, most attorneys will give you one free consultation--try asking a lawyer who deals with credit issues.

Call the company that is sending your debt to court like NOW. They will allow you to pay less but you need to call before the court settles and there is a judgment against you.

That is high but not too high. You should go to credit counselling and try to find a way to make payments. Call your credit card company and try to work out some payments. If you can't pay you need to declare bankruptcy.

hi Chris you won't be able to borrow your way out of debt ..Write down all your debt each and every thing.. those so referred to as consolidation agencies are dropping their non earnings prestige with the government.. i do no longer think of student loans could join this anymore ,,yet take all your debt advice to a criminal expert and declare financial disaster..Get out your mess and ignore approximately it .. start up a sparkling and spend in basic terms the money you earn..

No, it isn't high, and you should pay the entire amount, because if you do not, others may not hold you in high regard. People generally do not like weasels. Please request a payment plan, like the other poster mentioned.
