Hoodia has worked for me...and with no side effects.

**** VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF ---
#1. Be sure you are buying pure Hoodia...look for the import certificate on the website. No matter the price, if they do not display this, you really do NOT know what you are getting!
#2. Be sure it is 100% Hoodia & not mixed w/other herbs, etc.!!
#3. Keep in mind it stops your hunger pangs…you MUST remember to break your habit to always eat at certain times.
#4. Drink a full 8oz. glass of water with it!

Revolutionize your diet....
Get plenty of excersize
Take a good quality multivitamin from your local 'health' shop or vitaminshoppe.com
I would be wary of any weight reduction aid. Your best effort would be to:
engage in fasting for a week: juice fasts or lemon/stevia/cayenne/water are usually good to flush out anything that is flooding your system. This is usually step one.
Reintroduce juice/fruits, then vegetables into your diet.
Become a vegetarian: http://www.vegsoc.org/index.html
and supplement with B-12 and vitamin C - despite claims, you really can't get enough of it. Eat healthy oils:
* Organic Olive Oil - most other oils on shelf are carcinogenic and rancid. Don't heat this oil.
* Flax Oil - One tablespoon in morning, and one in the afternoon. You will lose weight.
* There is so much conflicting data about which oil is non carcinogenic and safe for cooking. The answer is probably none, but until I find a definitive answer, I'm probably going to continue using olive, almond or sesame, they are all high in monounsaturates.
Oh of course, and get plenty of excersize: walk, run, play tennis, etc., and do meditation/prayer/yoga.

I would say yes. All the promises it should deliver upon, if it sounds too good to be true it is too good to be true. It promises to boost your metabolism, burn fat, suppress appetite, etc. How many more of these things will come onto the market? They all boast the same things and none of them work.
The only thing that will burn fat and boost your metabolism is exercise. The body does amazing things when we simply start being more active, the body uses the fat for fuel and it's burned, just like a car with gasoline. Find a exercise that you enjoy and you will look forward to doing it all the time. Dvd's are great now too so you can exercise in your home, this is how I started too with at home exercise and taking walks after dinner. Kickboxing, tae bo, aerobics, it's all out there and you can get beginner things too, check it out, you can do it!
