Your parents knows what is best for you, there is plenty of time for boyfriends when you are older, dating can be rough and these days, you do not want to end up in trouble because of pressure to sleep with a guy, during the teen years hormones are raging... it is not fun being a teen mother, you will have no fun or real freedom to do the things that teens should be doing. You will be just fine, just enjoy life, get good grades, a job, and everything will fall into place when it is suppose to. Your parents are only protecting and guiding you, and you should appreciate them for that.

Unless you have a time machine or want to kill yourself, you don't have many other options. I'd trade you 10 years if I could; you'd gain 10, I'd lose them. That isn't an option either. You are stuck; 13 (14? 15?) years old and boyfriendless.
You can observe and ask questions, so that when you are old enough to have one you'll have an idea of what to look for.
You mis-spelled "when", too.

boyfriends don't define who we are. they certainly don't define 'being a teen'. the point of being a teen is discovering who YOU are, not what other people tell you you should be. i personally think it's misguided for parents to restrict their teen children from dating; most of them are going to do it anyway. that's why i say, if you find someone you really like and who really likes you, go for it. just BE SAFE (i think you know what i mean). your parents would respect your decision a lot more (should they find out) if you were being smart and responsible behind their backs as opposed to stupid and reckless.

you'll be fine don't worry. You can be that much more free when you go off to college or after you get to be on your own.
