First, I don't pray. Praying is useless. Second, they're not fighting for freedom anymore. Freedom was acheived when Saddam was captured. Osama went into hiding so he's no longer a threat anymore. Third, today is not about the soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's about celebrating our independence from Great Britain. Today has nothing to do with the war in Iraq because the soldiers are not fighting for OUR freedom.

I have thought about our brave soldiers alot today. I have my hubby who is one of the brave soldiers in Iraq right now! If you don't want to stop and think about the people that are fighting for our freedom then why don't some of you grow some balls and join the military and see if you can do what these brave men/women are doing? Bet you can't.

4 July marks the independence of the USA from the colonial powers of Europe. It is to remember the brave men and women who fought for freedom from British rule in 1776. If Iraq or Afghanistan ever achieve peace and independence (and let's hope they do), they can choose a day to celebrate. The soldiers in Iraq don't need just one day a year of American support, they need it all the time. And Veterans' Day commemorates those slain in battle, past and present. We need 4th July to remember the past, so that perhaps we can make fewer mistakes in the future. Perhaps.

No. Today is about the Founding fathers, who created America along with the brave colonists who risked everything to get freedom for themselves, not soldiers in Iraq now.

What hasn't replaced? We used to celebration, the super kin adventure and the nutrition! We consistently had ham and potato salad and lemon meringue pie. the mummy and father sat around and drank beer (insert holiday) and the youngsters performed till the day died and struggled to maintain unsleeping long adequate to do what few fireworks they hadn't enable off formerly hand. once I retired I moved to a tiny city that had a tiny parade of the locals and by ability of the time I moved away, it have been discovered and persons got here from everywhere to confirm this little parade because of the fact it reminded them of issues previous. back then there became no question of patriotism. human beings did not like this or that however the Grand old Flag became merely that and all it represented became venerated and childrens nonetheless pledged to it each morning. human beings stood and took off their hats while the flag glided by ability of and an excellent kind of had a tear of their eye over it as properly. Now the flag seems to in user-friendly terms be good for gas, outfits and window remedies. My perfect occasion may be like the single interior the music guy the place the completed city have been given in contact and labored mutually to make a staggering day of it. My fact was once that it became a ruin day from artwork and that i became prepared to have fun something to get a type of!!! Now i don't even opt to talk approximately patriotism (human beings spit on our squaddies - no not over there, right here in united states of america.) I often finally end up wanting to overcome somebody and if I had a flag on me it would grow to be a weapon. What became our first clue the holiday became changing? while it grew to grow to be the fourth of july particularly than Independence Day????

We should always keep our troops in our hearts and minds year round. They are there fighting for a free country as our forefathers did over 200 years ago.

But today is a day to celebrate our freedom. A freedom that many had died for. A freedom that gives us the right to do what we do here - say what we thing without retribution. Celebrate the freedom and honor our troops.

Memorial day and Veteran's day are for the military . Today is for all of us citizens inluding the soldiers of this great nation. Without them we would not have the freedom to complain.

The prayers are a good idea though. I pray for their safety.

Of course, we shouldn't let our troops be far from our thoughts. But, today is not their day; it's the day the United States came into being, declaring itself a sovereign nation.

Your right, it should also be about defending freedom here from your
CORRUPT, nazi government.
You know a teacher was fired in May for stating he thought hitler and bush are exactly alike? Freedom of speech? No, nazi regime.
