There are many factors and every situation is different.
There is the taboo factor to it. That makes it exciting.
since it is already a friend then you feel comfortable with that person and it makes a woman feel safe.
also many woman feel this will lead to a real great relation for they feel they are already friends so they will get along and fall in love. (be careful the guy may be thinking you're going to become his f-buddy only.)
what ever way you take it just be careful not to become emotionally attached because this could go south fast to if jealousy comes into the picture. talk to your friend honestly if it's just sex or more so there are no misconceptions and no one get hurt. He could also be thinking it's going to become serious and you may not be thinking the same thing.
