I have a 3 month old. I did not give her a last name, or middle name. On her birth certificate and social security card, there is only one name. I am just wondering how many others are out there.

I think your have to give a last name for legal reasons. It may have been different once upon a time, but I believe a last name is required. Middle names you can go without.

yes i know alot of kids who i went to school with who only had one name no middle theres nothing wrong with it the middle name is just another form of finding cause if its john williams and no middle name then you'll have alot more trouble trying to find results on that person cause there's no middle name good luck its all up to you.

Sure, kids abandoned at birth don't get any last names at birth, because no one claims them. Eventually a caregiver or themselves probably pick one.
