Is N.Korea a coward, hiding behind China?

To my thoughts, the only reason N. Korea is doing what there doing is because they got a large nation "China" who is backing them. Do they actually believe that if they attack us, China will save them, because I dought that China would help them in a War, but even if they did, China will still not save them from the true world powers of America and our allies. do you find that pathetic that N.Korea hides behind China in order to get backings for test launching missiles?

They're acting this way because they are afraid that the U.S. is going to attack them. Not because the U.S. intends to, but because their government is paranoid. Yes, they are pathetic, but I think that if the U.S. does not provoke them, they will eventually collapse on their own instead of attacking anyone.

To suggest that North Korea "hides" behind China or is in some form of alliance with China, completely ignores the cultural, ethnic, and political tension that has existed between Chinese and Koreans, not merely since the establishment of North Korea, but for centuries.

While it is true that China played an active role in assisting North Korea's invasion of South Korea during the Korean War, this is more an exception to the rule in Sino-Korean relations. Up until the collapse of the Soviet Union, North Korea was always more of an ally to the Soviets than to the Chinese. And, since the collapse of the USSR, relations between China and North Korea have been quite cool, except for periodic moments of heightened tension.

If North Korea is ever attacked, there is a high probability that the aggressor will be China, itself. And, if any other nation, specifically the US, ever attacks North Korea, there is a good probability that China will sit on the sidelines and wait until the war is over...then annex as much of North Korea as it can before international pressure is brought upon them to stop.

Kim Jung Mentally Ill is nuts. Therefore I would not put him up for comparison in a normal way. China on the one had is N K ally. But China also keeps him in check. China is too Capitolistic to want a war. I have been there 5 times since 1982. They now think of almost nothing but getting rich.

That nut Kim Jung Crap will force Japan to rebuild its military to deal with his insanity. China will then have to cope with a military powerhouse nearby. Therefore it's in China's interest to muzzle N. Korea but they won't. The real cowards are the Chinese who are ignoring the long term consequences here. Innit?
