How to cook a lobster in the most humane manner has been a concern of guilt-ridden chefs for generations. In order to put the matter to a rest scientifically, one researcher instructed his graduate students to boil lobsters after having subjected them to various relaxation techniques. The students determined which method of dispatching them was the kindest by counting the number of tails flicks heard in the kettle before each lobster succumbed to the boiling water. They tried hypnotizing the subjects (rubbing their backs until they stood on their heads), soaking
them in fresh water, heating them slowly from room temperature to boiling, and other accepted strategies. They found that putting them in the fridge before cooking to numb them up, (as happens naturally in winter), resulted in the lowest number of tail twitches. So, according to modern science, a few minutes in the freezer means less agony in the kettle.

I would say yes...because the first and "last" time I boiled lobsters, I heard like a screaming/squealing noise in the pot!
The noise is to hard to describe, but it was awful!

No the first time you put a lobster in boiling water, they actually have an orgasm, after twenty seconds they feel ticklish. after thirty seconds, they feel very annoyed and sweaty, after forty five seconds they think they have entered the Bahamas during peak summer. and they should have brought thier coolers with them.
At the sixtieth second.they feel pain in thier claws and at three minutes and forty two seconds thier blood boils. after fifteen minutes they feel no pain at all.

No. Just because the boiling water sears the skin, boils their internal organs and makes their brains fry, doesn't mean there is any pain.

OF COURSE THEY DO.
The next time you cook one notice its expression just before you drop it into the boiling water. You can tell that it is very apprehensive and often it pleads with you not to do it.

This may sound crazy but it is true. Lobsters don't feel pain. The sound they make when you are boiling them is actually the air leaving their shells.

Well do you think that it would hurt you to be boiled alive, so I would say that yes it would. But I think putting them in the freezer first is supposed to help.

well you should never kill shellfish before you cook them, you run a chance of getting poisoned. anyway they probably feel a little something because if you listen you can hear them crying.
